I am 38 years old and wondering if I am experiencing premenopausal symptoms. For the last year or so, whenever I menstruate (every 21 days...) I have a day or two when I am expelling major clots. Luckily for me right now I am working out of my home, if I were not I would have to take a day from work it is that bad!! I've been to two gynecologists who both said that it is normal for my age and nothing to worry about. When I asked if this is a premenopausal symptom, the one doctor replied "If you're over 35, everything is a premenopausal symptom." I guess I just want to hear something from another woman who may be, or may have experienced the same things. Unfortunately I have no sisters (6 brothers...ugh) and my mother has never been very outgoing with information of this sort. I would appreciate hearing from any one, either on here or (better still) e-mail me at willow_pagan@yahoo.com. Thanks a million!!

Hi Willow. I just saw your post and had to respond. I'll e-mail you later from home (I'm at work right now) as well. I'm 43 and have also just decided that I'm in peri. I've had blood work done, but the results aren't back yet. I also have periods every 3 1/2 weeks and most last about 2 weeks each. For the first 2 or 3 days I also pass huge clots which freaks me out. I go through the largest tampons I can find in no time flat. My dr is testing my iron as a result and thinks some of my symptoms (see the list of 34), may be due to an iron deficiency. We'll see. I wanted to respond to you right away and will e-mail you later.

I am 39 and have experienced that for about the past two years. My doctors also weren't too concerned about it, but last month I was on a natural progesterone creme and I had a very little amount of clots. I really attribute that to the progesterone. Also, my cramps were not so severe either. My suggestion would be to contact Pete Huseman, the pharmacist they talk about here at Power Surge or your doctor and a compounding pharmacist. Good luck
