Has anyone tried these facial exercise programmes or these mini electrical facial exercisers (Cleo, Caci) and do they work?

I have one of those electric things, which I think help to tighten your face but you have to hold it in place and it makes my arms ache (how lazy is that?)

I'm curious to know whether anyone has found out whether these things work.

I'm sort of skeptical of these things, although if down the road you tell me they work, I'll go buy myself one!

They are advertising on TV lately these at-home facial peel kits. They must be less strong than what you'd have with a professional procedure, but their claims are of course that they work great. I break out into a painful rash with any kind of alpha-hydroxy product, so can just image what might happen if I tried them!

I'm too chicken for the knife, so am just trying to accept being middle-aged and funny-looking. tongue.gif

Has anyone tried doing exercises for the face?

What's this new Fox programme...stars without the make-up? Is it on your TV yet?

Entertainment Tonight??? Never heard of it!! kidding!!

As for facial exercises, I can remember ladies doing that when I was a kid. If you think about it tho .... while it might tone the muscles, might it also increase lines? I mean we get wrinkles from frowning, smiling, squinting .... seems the repetitve movements might do the same. ?????? Just a thought smile.gif

Mmm... Some of the exercises involved pulling out your top lip. Now I don't want to end up looking like Marge Simpson!
boyzmom
Well Marge ...er um Alice..... What is the pulling of the upper lip supposed to do? Maybe like a temporary collagen injection? I might try that tho. As I age I seem to be losing my lips!

I haven't a clue. You have to buy the DVD's to find out...that's why I wondered if anyone had tried them laugh.gif

Preparation H - guaranteed to reduce facial swelling. After all, it reduces those nasty hemmies - why not the face? Runway models use it.
boyzmom
I've heard that but never tried it. It's so thick & greasy you could never use it in the day.... and at night how would you keep it off your linens?
alice3
I've read Prep H tightens up the area around your eyes and models use it. I also read that models put toothpaste on spots before bed and they're nearly gone next day...and this does work!

On Oprah the other day they had a lady who used a vaginal cream on her face. She was like 60 years old and her face was as smooth as can be. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the cream, short term memory still isn't what it used to be and by the time I ran to get a paper and pen I had forgotten the name. Anybody else see that show and know the name? She also used Preparation H around her eyes. Also on the same show a plastic surgeon mentioned a new procedure for wrinkles, called Restylene, a sugar based concoction injected and supposed to be longer lasting (1 year) than collagen.

Hi Meg,

I saw the show...the cream is called Premorin and of course I checked it out on line- you need a prescription to get it. Its some kind of estrogen cream. I loved Oprah's face when she asked the woman what ever posessed her to use it on her face tongue.gif I was more impressed with the 50 something x-cheerleader that did the backbend on the chair and picked up a glass of wine in her teeth and then got back up to a standing position!!!! I'd have a hard time just picking it up from the floor laugh.gif laugh.gif
