Anyone here using/used the ortho evra birth control patch? My doctor recommended it, but I've been hesitant to try this form of birth control.
Please let me know what is working for you to help eliminate these perimenopausal symptoms.
Thanks

Ive been peri since age 36, I am 43 now. Ive been on the pill all this time. It works great for my periods but I think my hormones just did a huge shifting and the pill isnt helping as much. I know my Dr will say, lets up the estrogen!!! "NO" I ordered the natural progesterone cream and will wean off the pill and try cream, vitamins, exercise and better diet. Because my job is so stressful Im afraid of the estrogen.
I also just got off prozac because I just dont want to up the dosage with that either.
I have been a complete mess here lately. I got 12 hours of sleep Saturday night and it has made a world of difference.
Get the books by Dr John Lee---I have been using them for reference for years now and it is his remedy that I am trying. It takes a lot of patience.
Hope you find something that works for you.

Thanks MissDee for responding. I've read Dr. Lee's book and many others, and unfortunately natural progesterone only made my symptoms worst. My dr. said it's because of the fluctuating hormones during perimenopause. I'm currently using a low dose bcp along with Vivelle hormone patch. I've added the Vivelle recently because of the symptoms that I was still experiencing while on the bcp. My blood work results show that my fsh is postmenopausal and estradiol is zero.
Don't you just love trial and error ?
