Hi. I'm new here. I came across this site when I was searching for perimenapause. I am 40 and have been feeling just plain awful, crazy, weird, etc. I am always on edge, get panic attacks, cannot seem to regulate my temperature (either freezing or sweating), etc. I still get my period every month but they are coming closer and closer together. Also, about every other month right when my period starts I get an awful pain on my right lower side. Had it checked out, and the doctors say nothing's wrong. Hah!! Does anyone else have this side pain? lasts like the first day or two of my period. If so, what is good for it besides tylenol as that does nothing. I am so relieved since reading the posts here. I truly thought I was losing my mind.

Hi Daisy and welcome to Power Surge! Stick around - you'll find the best support a girl would ever want while journeying through menopause!
I get so many aches and pains in different areas, at different times, last for different durations, etc. etc! I've had the pain on the right side, left side, upper quadrant, lower quadrant. If your doctor says it's okay, then it probably is okay. If it continues to bother you or worsens in intensity, mention to him/her again and they might consider doing an ultra sound. I've had an ovarian cyst that caused quite a bit of pain and it was found this way. Eventually went away on it's own AS HAVE almost all of the other aches and pains!
HUGS!

Hi Daisy, and welcome to Power-Surge!
I agree with Kleeo. I've had all kinds of booboos with peri-menopause, including lower-left pelvic pain that worried me sick until I had every test in the book - all negative! It's better now, and I'm wishing I'd spent that cash on a trip to Paris! <_<
By the way, when periods begin coming closer together, it's often a signal that they are soon going to start coming farther apart. That was the case for me, and some other folks on P-S. I had about a year of close-together periods (what a pain!), and then they began going in the other direction.
Good luck with these changes. You'll find lots of good info, and great support on this website! Welcome aboard!

Lord I hope so!!!
Welcome daisybaby! P-S was a Godsend for me & I know you'll find it is for you too. I think a switch is flipped at age forty that signals all those nasty aches & pains.

I get the lower side pain too except mine are somewhat brief & stabbing....like my ovaries are being ripped out.

Thanks so much everyone for your responses. I feel better already knowing I am not going crazy and with others can get through this.
