i just missed another period and have been having spotting for two weeks, very light, but present. have been having menstraul irregularties since late Oct. i have no clue where my cycle is now. i have an exam 3/10 but was hoping to get in a tad earlier. can a gyn do an exam when you are spotting? are there any tests that can not be done because of this? of course by the time I see her I could have a real period., that would figure.

Hi. I think it's better if you're not bleeding. I'm not positive, but I don't think they can do a PAP when you're bleeding.

I had this going on a couple of years ago. The doc suggested going in for the yearly, and then coming in only for a Pap when the spotting stopped. Included it in the cost of the physical, and I was able to get in quickly between bleeding "bouts" (but then he was a wonderful doctor - he moved far away last year! )

I bled just about every goshdarn day for 3 months once, so understand how frustrating it is!
