Did anyone see Dr. Phil today? (7/29)  He did a show on perimenopause and PMS and it was really good, I thought.  He also had his wife on and she was talking with a group of women on symptoms they were having.  It all sounded so familiar!  There was also a lady who wrote a book called Before the Change.  She highlighted some of the things that have been discussed here on Power Surge, like flaxseed oil, evening primrose oil, natural hormones, etc.  Did anyone else see it?  I thought it was good that he reinforced that the women going through this are NOT crazy, there is a biochemical reason for it.

I'm so glad Dr. Phil reinforced that it's biochemical smile.gif Needless to say, we've been talking about this in Power Surge for ten years, but I'm glad everyone's getting the info out now.

I didn't see the show, but the guest I believe you're talking about is Ann Louise Gittleman, who's been a guest in Power Surge a few times. The book you're referring to is Before The Change: Taking Charge of Your Perimenopause.

You can find her transcripts in the Library.

I didn't see the show, but the author of Before the Change : Taking Charge of Your Perimenopause, Ann Louise Gittleman, has been Dearest's guest in Power Surge Live twice so far.  You can read the transcripts of those visits in the Power Surge Transcript Library

Enjoy!

I saw the show and one thing has been bothering me ever since........

Ann Louise Gittleman said something to the effect of:  "As we all know, too much soy is not a good thing."

I'm a Revival user and I must admit.........it's giving cause to reconsider my soy intake.

I think I will go out and get her book, and do some searching on the internet before I decide anything.

What's a girl to do?????

I have her book its good. But i woud'nt worry to much about the soya.  Surely the amount you are taking is not going to make that much difference.  Dearest has been taking it for years has she not.  If you listened to everything then you would never eat or drink again:biggrin: Then you would not be breathe in;)

Take carePauline

P-You are right.....I'm a believer that knowledge is power.....but heck, sometime I get on overload!!

Is there such a thing as having TOO much information?!

Oy Vey!

MaryO
I think Ann Louise Gittleman might have said that about soy because she is (or was?)  the spokeswoman for Rejuvex (dong quai, magnesium, boron and glandular powders) and she may think that women on soy would have no need to try the Rejuvex.

Thanks for the links to Ann Louise Gittleman's guest chats, I'm definitely going to read those smile.gif

Glad to see that the info on meno is finally being taken seriously in the media and elsewhere. it is long overdue. i was worried about what i was going to do back when i was in my earlier yrs and no one ever talked about it like it was something to be embarrassed about. about the soy...... i have taken it for a year now and i would not be without it.tongue.gif:P:P darling

Hello Dr Phil Viewers! If you were watching last week, he had a second show on menopause/hormones, etc. His wife once again sat down with women and talked..only this time the women were much younger 30-ish like me. Not only was there advice for the women, but also thier partners, on how to support the women in their lives who were going thru these very real trials in their lives. I think my hubby would definately benefit from a Dr. Phil encounter! :-) Lots of info on pharmaceutical compounding, herbs, hormones...so much info in so little time! I am so thankful for this forum!
