Hi Ladies,
I would like to hear you symptoms on this body part ...... brain.
I sometimes wake up with it or it just comes on it the day. It's where my head can feel heavy, or of course the dizzy. But sometimes there is no dizzy and it's just heavy feeling and maybe even tingly. Sometimes a headache will follow. It can come and go in the day. Is this like anyone elses symptoms and do you have any tricks for it.

Hi Lin,

I've had this. You wake up wondering what the heck shape your head is going to be in, whether it will be a day of being in a fog, or thinking somewhat-clearly (never completely clearly! tongue.gif). That "heavy" feeling is very tiring, and you're right that headaches often follow. This was my experience.

I did feel helped some by caffeine, but that made the anxiety worse. Seemed to be a trade-off, but some days you just need your wits about you.

Do you drink alcohol? I noticed a worsening with this, so have given up my nightly glass of wine. sad.gif

This seems to be one of those menopausal symptoms that hits lots of women. You'll find posts all over these boards about it.

Good luck to you,

Jacquie

Jacquie,
Thanks for your response. I don't drink but have sure been tempted. My husband keeps saying, "try and drink maybe it will help". But ....... I have read so many posts that say it makes things worse. So I have stayed away from trying that.
That's so interesting about caffeine helping you. I have tried staying off pepsi and expresso's because of the anxiety. Not that that helped any. I didn't notice a difference.
My brain fog went away fairly early today and then the heart skipping around started. I am so tired of worrying. I know it's the peri and when I am having a good day I can remember back to the days before. If I wasn't worried about one things it was another. But managed to live through it all. Seems silly when your not in it at the time. I have got to stop this worrying thing.
HELP !!!!!!!!!!

One lady I know went to the doctor as she was feeling a bit weepy and he recommended that she had a couple of glasses of wine! unsure.gif

Lin,

You're so right about that sense of if we're not worried about one thing, it's another. Wouldn't it be helpful if we had only ONE symptom of menopause? Gee, if there were ONLY hot flashes to deal with, or ONLY headaches, or ONLY anxiety, LOL.

Why this kooky baggage of stuff? blink.gif

Hang in like the rest of us, Sister!

Alice, sounds like that doctor didn't want to deal with the weepy lady. Anyone knows that alcohol is a depressant and can actually worsen the "blues." You may feel temporarily better after a drink, but the blues come crashing back. So this is why people become alcoholics, because they don't feel good unless they are drinking. I'd try something else.
