Is it unusual to have light pink spotting just a few days after a period ended? This is the first time it's happened to me. I'm 49, and am still having regular periods, but they seem to be coming closer together (around 26-28 days instead of 30 days or so.) What's going on with me?(sigh)

I don't know but I would like to know too.  I had this for the first time last week about 4 days after my period ended.  Just spotted lightly in the morning and then it was gone again.

Same with me. I spotted this morning and now it's almost gone. I do feel a little crampy/bloated or something. Hope we can hear from somebody on this soon.  Nan

Very typical of perimenopause. You can experience spotting almost anytime in between periods. Even once you begin missing periods, you may experience spotting in between. Even postmenopausal women occasionally experience spotting. If it's just light spotting, I wouldn't be concerned about it, especially if it doesn't continue for prolonged periods of time. However, it's always wise if you're experiencing constant spotting to check with your health care practitioner to have yourself checked just as a precautionary means.

If, on the other hand, one is having bleeding in between periods and after her period has stopped, and it continues for a week for two, she should definitely check with her doctor ASAP to rule out any problems.

However, spotting is very normal during your "changes."

I just turned 50. I had that same spotting for about 5 years. It would usually come about a week after my period and last a day or two. It worried me at first, but when it  became like a monthly  consistant occurrance I stopped worrying about it. I'm such a blockhead,  I had no idea that it was a sign of menopause.

Why do I havre to learn everything the hard way?
