Well, went to see the toxic facialist and said my skin was awful - pimples - my period is coming today already spotting but for the past mornings I have experienced periods of more heat where I am hot - I thought I had a feaver - took my temp fine - my face is not hot just the chest - and I am only wearing my nightie and robe -and my face this month looks awful breakout city - the facial lady sold me all these things - I feel ripped off - I asked her is it hormones - I do not think so - and I also know I wake up in the middle of the night wide awake - but are the heat things related to my hormones I am 44 soon to be 45. And I have been sweating more - but the skin thing has me for a loop - last month my skin fine - this month yuck - I did have a rought month with a trip to the dentist along with a trip to the gyno for a checkup - can our months reactions cause the buildup to a yucky period and the breast feelings and tinglings drive me crazy - sometimes during pms my breasts surge with weird feelings - has anyone else felt this my gyno blew me off about the breast thing and said I was only a candidate for only birth control pills (bcp) - maybe due to my age - this s*cks - I am all anxied out now but I would be grateful for any replies as if you are or have experienced this.

Hey gunner,
The nice thing about not having periods so often (I'm averaging one every 6 months) is that all that breast nonsense is GONE!
Yes, I used to have the tingling breasts, painful breasts, sometimes so sore that I would walk with my hands in front of me like Frankenstein - DO NOT TOUCH! Oh, and itching breasts. It was all a cyclical thing, with pain increasing until my period was due; then the tingling would begin, and I knew a period was imminent.
Also, last year, I had constant pimples on my nose, for MONTHS. So demoralizing to be getting pimples again after having none since adolescence. So much of perimenopause is reminiscent of adolescence!
Is there any other facialist in town other than this bird? She sounds like such a pain! I wouldn't drop my good money into her lap.
Your heat episodes sound like hot flashes to me. I don't get them in my face so much, more the chest and arms. Sweater off, sweater on, blanket off, blanket on.... And I definitely got them soon after my period would start, when hormones were at their lowest levels.
Sure all sounds like peri-kaka to me!
Hang in there, dear Sister!

I am now getting pimples all over my chin. Started before last months period & I'm still battling with them. I never had more then 1 pimple before my period, now this is so gross.
I also get the itchy nipples, & breasts what is this caused from?
I don't have hot flashes, I think I get the sweats a few days before my period is due, usually on chest, back & arms, back of neck, can this be?
My periods were coming 21-24 days very light, now the are 21-24 days very heavy 1st day, almost shuts off the end of day 2, starts back up alittle on day 3, & then for the next 3-4 days that brown junk. Does anyone know if this is a sign that this will be stopping soon?
Please I'm desperate for answers.

I had this for about 6 months, but every 28 days. Now I am down to 2 days with the third some pink almost nonexistent discharge. I'm 43, so I'm sure that I still have a ways to go. I also get more pimples before the period starts. It's all in the hormones. Dr's will push BCPs on you if you complain about it. I'm just going to let it happen. Sorry I don't have any answers, but your situation doesn't sound too unusual to this group.

That's the way my period was my entire life! Just came to accept it as normal.

Hi Ladies,
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I know that Dearest lists indigestion and stomach issues as a meno symptom but I have not seen many posts about anyone complaining about it much. I have it bad. I get indigestion almost everytime I eat. I also have nausea as well. It has been so bad at times, I begin to wonder if I'm having a heart attack. You know how they say that the feeling of indigestion is a sign of a heart attack. Well, that's where my mind goes. There is a burning in my throat all the way down to my stomach at times and the the upset stomach sets in. Does anyone else suffer from this? What are some good solutions? It takes my appetite away most of the time and I have no desire to eat.

Hi
No I don't get heart burn, but my irritable bowel sure kicks in. My stomach just gurgles & gurgles, then I end up running to the bathroom.
It seems the week before my period is due everything else just kicks right in to make me feel more miserable then I am already.
The muscles in the back of my neck get like rocks, and if you touch one spot it sends the pain right up my head into my eyes.
Does anyone have these symptoms?

Maeflower, yes I had the same symptoms that you described. I tried Tums, Tagament, Pepto, the works. Helped a little, but didn't make it go away completely and it continued to get worse. Finally, my Dr. said that I had reflux and prescribed Nexium. It's been wonderful. I can eat anything I want and not worry about heartburn, burning in my throat or acid stomach. If it bothers you more than a couple of times a week, I would highly recommend Nexium. There is Prevacid also. I tried that, but it gave me a terrible headache.

Thanks Diane for the info. I didn't think about acid reflux. My husband has acid reflux and is on Prevacid. He couldn't take the Nexium. Sometimes the indigestion lasts for a week at a time. And then other times I can go for a month without having any problems. I'll have to talk to my doc about this.
Nancy, I know exactly what you mean with the irritable bowel. I have problems with that also. And yes! A week before my period is due all the peri symptoms are magnified 10 times it seems. My anxiety is usually high, the heart palps increase, the muscle twitching takes off and the insomnia gets bad, headaches start, just to name a few of them. I usually have about 1 good week a month where I seem to have hardly any symptoms and thats one week after my period. Then by about day 8-10 all the symptoms start back in again.
I think I've had enough already!!

SunMoonStars,
Is your pain different from hemrroid pain? I don't know what pain fibroids can cause but it do know that hemrroids are painful and that they can develope inside the rectum.

I think the rectal pain you are discribing is what medically is called proctalgia. I get this pain occassionally and in my case is caused by ibs. If you have a history of gastro problems this could be the problem. Rectal muscles are spasming and can be extremely painful. Maybe if this isn't the problem in your case you could google proctalgia and see what the other causes could be.
Good luck and take care

I sometimes get the rectal pain, however mine I know comes when I ovulate.
It never fails every month for about a day or 2. Try to see if it fits in with your cycles.
