I have today started Bi-est with 1.25 mg Testosterone, and take 100 whatevers of progesterone cream a day (have done this for two years). I have NO libido and vaginal atrophy/thinning to the point where the wild thing is completely out of the question. My doc says to apply this cream to the "outside" area and that it will "definitely work." I'm terrified of getting a hairy chest or something like this but at least that can be reversed.
Does anyone have experience with this combo for the same conditions? If so, how long did it take to regain any libido (even a teeny weeny bit would be heaven) and for the vaginal tissues to plump up again?

My doctor put me on vagifem for the vaginal atrophy. She had me insert one suppository/tablet vaginally for 7 days in a row and now I use it twice a week. It has helped alot. At least I can have sex without bleeding and crying from the pain. It is not the same as it was prior to menopause (which is very sad becasue that was a part of our life that I really enjoyed)......but it is definitely better. I still don't have the libido that I once had but I haven't given up hope.

????
Is vagifem a prescription med? Or can you get it over-the-counter?

I found the vaginal estrogen cream helped with alleviate the dryness, but didn't do much for the, um, response.
My blood work showed normal testosterone levels, but Bellevue recommended a combination testosterone/estriol vaginal cream. It's worked lots better! I think some of the problems down yonder have to do with decreased blood flow as a result of the decreased estrogen, and the localized testosterone/estriol increases the blood flow.
It doesn't make you 20 again, but it sure beats that PFFT (if you know what I mean) I was getting before.
Just my 2-cents worth.
