A girlfriend of mine told me about Peppermint Oil for Hot Flashes. It works for temporary relief! biggrin.gif I bought a little spray bottle, put in some water and about 50 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil (from HF store).. When I get very hot during the day I take out my handy spray bottle and spray my neck and wrists. You actually have to be careful not to use too much, as after a minute or so you actually get cold and get the chills!! MMMM ..love this meno thing! Anyone else tried the peppermint?

Hi Fran! Great idea! I had heard someone who uses it for sudden panic attacks when they are in the car, but never for hot flashes. But come to think of it, I use a peppermint conditioner in the summer heat and also when I am having hotflashes. I never really thought about it. Kind of an afterthought - I always have it in the shower, and if my head feels hot when I'm in there trying to wake up, I use it. I does really cool the head, and you are right. it is lasting and gets really cool a while after you use it. I also have one from Italy with eucalyptus (sp?) and peppermint. That one is removing hair dye and perm residue. I hadn't had a perm in decades, but I always loved the way the conditioner felt after your head gets all hot from hair chemicals. That one smells like Sucrets throat drops LOL. I am going to make up a little spray bottle. Beats frozen peas for convenience, too! biggrin.gif Thanks for the great idea! smile.gif -Mary Beth

Thanks Fran - I'm going to try that. Sometimes when I'm at work I can feel my face getting soooooo hot, I look like a tomato and I hate it!!!!! This will be easy to have on hand. Thanks again.
