I believe I may have started Perimenopause as my periods are very irregular now and I have been having hot flushes. These things I dont find hard to cope with but I now have something which is really bothering me. For the last almost couple of months, I have been feeling as if I am walking on a bed. I dont feel like I am going to faint of fall over or anything, I just feel not right and perhaps slightly light headed. The only time I seem to be able to shake it off is if im driving, which seems quite bizarre. The Dr seems to think it may be stress, as I have recently lost my father. However, I am beginning to wonder if perhaps its to do with the menopause. I think it s the worrying about it that seems to be making it worse. I have had my ears and eyes checked and all is fine. Has anyone else experienced this?

Rachel, I think your Doctor is right. It really does affect your hormones.
Take some time for yourself.

Yes, yes, yes, Rachel, me too. I've had it occasionally for a couple of years. It IS like walking on a bed! It's as thought the ground is not right. I have been checked for everything, from middle ear to blood pressure and I'm fine. It's just the ground that's gone crazy!!! And yes, a vague light-headedness too. There are quite a few women here who talk about various sorts of dizziness. Looks like it's yet another delightful product of the meno-monster.

Well that makes me feel a bit better. It is there almost all of the time though and has been for about 2 months. The only time it seems to be better is when I first get up in the morning.Very strange. The other odd thing was that this started when the hot flushes stopped. (so my husband has pointed out) Maybe Im not losing the plot after all.

Rachel, find the threads about dizziness, and I'm sure you'll feel heaps better, at least from the point of view of worrying about the symptoms. As for losing the plot, the plot seems so ghastly sometimes, it might be a relief to lose it! But where would that leave us? I hate to think!

Rachel,
I am currently typing and into my 2nd day of feeling light headed and dizzy. I have posted this feeling in various places tonight. I started tracking this in August 2004, I get dizzy by the 9th day from my 1st day of my period. This usually lasts 3 days and then I clear up! This month I got dizzy on the 7th day from the 1st day of my period. Tomorrow will be my 3rd day in being dizzy....and if I follow the same pattern I should be back to normal by Monday. My brain actually feels cooler and I stay out of my rocking chair during this time because I am already dizzy. I also will not drive during this time.....I don't know if I could.....I just stay put......can do.. because I am not working outside of the home.......or inside either.....LOL
