Yes, I've had that pins n needles feeling in my face, especially around my mouth and chin. It took nearly two hours to go, so i looked it up on the internet and it's one of the symptoms of menopause!

I've had premenstrual migraines for about 12 years. For me it was the drop in progesterone which triggered the headaches. Over the years I have found many things to help: a good nutrition program including B-complex, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, GLA, calcium-magnesium in addition to your mulitvitamin. This helps nourish the ovaries (and all the cells of your body) which helps balance the hormones.

It is thought that migraines are dilation of the blood vessels in the brain; so caffeine may help because caffeine constricts the blood vessels.

After I read Dr. Lee's books, "What Your Dr. May Not Tell You About Menopause" and "What Your Dr. May Not Tell You About Premenopause", I learned another great remedy for premenstrual migraine. Rub some progesterone cream on the temple where the headache is felt; I also rub it on the neck and shoulder muscle on that side of my body because the shoulder muscle hurts almost as much as the headache. Sublingual progesterone is also available but I've not tried it since the progesterone cream worked for me. (It also worked well for the cramps at the beginning of my periods. Rub on the lower abdomen where you feel the cramps.)

I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting this, but this seemed to be the closest to my problem. I also don't know if I can explain what I was experiencing. Last nigt I went to a baseball game and it was hot and humid. I had an uncomfortable feeling in my head. I always feel like I have a vice wrapped loosely on on my head. But last night when I got of to leave the top of my head and forehead started to throb and head felt heavy. All the surrounding noises start to fluctuate. It reminded of me of how you hear things when you are in a car with windows down. I didn't feel disease just very uncomfortable. This lasted about 2 minutes, when I got home I had internal shakes for about 5 minutes. Head still has vice feeling and I have some tinitus and I was chilled.

I am wondering if this could be perimenopaus related. I have had many symptoms over the last year and had many test done. My test have all been o.k. except for mri of brain. It showed some very mild white matter disease which my neurologist says is normal for someone with hypertension.

This really scared me. Has anyone else had anything like this? Thanks for any advice. Bonnie

You said the throbbing and heaviness began when you got up to leave?

It sounds like this may have been a blood-pressure response. I get throbbing in my head sometimes if I get up too quickly.

If this frightened you, could the internal shakes have been an anxiety response?

Hopefully this will be a one-time-only thing. I've had a few of those myself! unsure.gif

Good luck to you,

Could it have been the heat that made you feel that way bonnib? You said it was hot and humid and you were at a baseball game.Today it was about 90 degrees and i felt exactly how you described.....only i also felt like i was gonna pass out.....i knew it was from getting over-heated.

Jollie and Jade,

Thank you both for your responses. You both make very valid points My blood pressure has been up and I amd going to see my pcp regarding medication on Monday. I just never thought of it as showing any symptoms. I always think of it as the silent disease. This could also explain the pressure in my head. I'm also thinking that if that is the case, it seems natural that heat would only aggravate that. I do have a question though does it mean bp is going up or down when standing up? I will bring this up with my pcp at my visit. Thanks again for you input. Bonnie
