I will try to explain this better.
I had an ovary removed when I was 28. The gyno also did an endometrial ablation (cauterized my uterine lining) due to excessive bleeding. While I was supposed to have NO periods (cycles would be normal but no lining to slough off) I did have spotting/light flow at the usual time. It sure beat the FLOODING I was doing though.
Anyway..years later..I am now 42 and when my period is due, the only way I know it is here is that there is some blood stains in my discharge. I don't even have to wear pads because it is only there when I wipe and then..only in tiny amounts. BUT..I now have an odor that I can't describe. It's not fishy like in bacterial infections and I have a yellowish discharge that several gynos have tested and it comes up clean of bacteria. The smell is sort of like cut celery or a "burned" smell. I did talk to another women who gets an odor as well after having ablation.
So..I have read that women in menopause can get an odor due to vaginal dryness. I am wondering if this is the case for me.
Anyone have this? If so...what would you describe it the smell as? Hubby doesn't like it but it's not a turn off for him. I get it at ovulation and again when I am having my period (if you call it that). I was wondering if pH has anything to do with it or the lack of neutralizing blood each month.
Sorry to be so long!
