The pharmacist, Pete Hueseman made the statement to me that natural
hormones may help allergies such as
hayfever and sinus congestion. I
thought I would ask if anyone has
noticed a decrease in allergies/con-
gestion since starting NHRT? I am
drowning in postnasal drip and feel
it is somehow related to hormone
fluctuations.
Thanks

Hi Angel3,
Wish I could say that NHRT has reduced my allergies, but it hasn't. It is possible that the symptoms might be more severe if I wasn't taking it, but that's just a supposition.

Hi Angel 3,
Although I haven't tried hormonal therapy other than Revival Soy, I wanted to say that I can really relate to your symptoms. I've had extremely severe nasal congestion and post nasal drip for the past 2 1/2 years. I, too, have been "drowning" in this for much of this time. I've had temporary relief from Rhinocort Aqua and Clear Phlegm by Health Concerns. I've also used a lot of Sudafed, but had to discontinue it when it started causing problems. I've recently tried cranial sacral therapy and have started having days with virtually no or reduced symptoms.
The congestion has caused breathing problems in general and breathlessness while talking. It has certainly been an enormously bizzare and difficult condition to handle. I just hope these symptoms are permanently on the decline because they have been so debilitating. I corresponded with another perimenopausal woman who had severe allergies although she was on the pill. Have you tried anything that's been helpful? Please share with us anything that works.
Thanks and best wishes,
Krista

Thank you Krista for your response.
I have tried sinus laser surgery, nasal
irrigation,allergy testing,nasal sprays
and many herbs. Everything I have used
gives a temporary fix. I wish I had the
answer!

I can't seen hormones, natural or otherwise, as much of an allergy reliever. I mean, so many young, healthy, perfectly hormonally-balanced people have bad allergies. My husband has had them since childhood.
Regardless, I use them and have gotten no relief whatsoever.
