Has anyone heard of this, and is anyone taking it? I am 12 years post-menopausal (currently I am 49 years old), and have been using bio-identical hormones most of the past 12 years. They were a God-send in the first several years. The last couple years, I have reduced the dose dramatically at the advice of my Gynecologist. Since I still have symptoms, I have tried various alternatives. My goal is to stop using hormones completely. I tried Revival soy...enzymes or not, caused a lot of uncomfortable bloating. I also tried some herbal combinations which did nothing for me. Several days ago, I began taking Effisoy, and so far, so good...it does not cause gas or bloating. I am hoping it will help with some of my symptoms, such as hot flashes, dryness, etc. Any comments or opinions are welcome!
jadebear
I have never tried effisoy...but thanks for posting about it because now i am researching it and interested in it.You said you began taking it a few days ago and "so far so good"...does that mean you noticed immediate benefits from it?is it helping you?
jadebear
I have been reading up on effisoy...it sounds pretty good and i like the fact that it's a soft gel cap...and that you only have to take one a day...let me know how it is working for you Melissa48.
Melissa48
Hi jadebear, When I said "so far, so good" I meant that I did not get gassy or bloated. I've been taking it for five days, and have noticed that one of my menopausal symptoms is definitely gone-no more dryness or irritation in that "most intimate of all places". I agree with you, one softgel a day is really nice, and they are very small and easy to swallow. I also like the fact that it is non-GMO soy. I'll let you know as I see other benefits, and please let me know if you decide to try it, and what you think.
jadebear
just wondering if you are still using the effisoy and how it's working for you....

Just went to the effisoy website.Has anyone here tried it besides Melissa?

Hi Moonlight,

I just checked the credentials of the US doctor who gave a testimonial on the site. Joseph DeStefano, M.D.Chief Attending Physician, Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecolog,Atlanticare Regional Medical Center Atlantic City.

AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a 567-bed teaching hospital with campuses in Atlantic City and Pomona.

His testimonial was pretty impressive, provided he doesn't get a kick back or have stock in Effisoy.

Excerpt from his testimonial: Dr. DeStefano has been conducting an ongoing observational study of the health benefits and relief from menopause symptoms associated with Effisoy.

Dr. DeStefano states, "I now recommend Effisoy as a natural product that can meet the health and treatment needs of many women who suffer from symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, including irritability, sleeplessness and hot flashes. I have seen first hand that Effisoy can truly help reduce the symptoms of menopause for the many women who are seeking an alternative to estrogen or bioidentical hormone therapy."

Dr. DeStefano is increasingly interested in raising awareness of effective natural therapies for menopause, such as Effisoy. "I am seeing tremendous results for my patients trying Effisoy. Women are experiencing not only less hot flashes and night sweats, but also are reporting less vaginal dryness, anxiety and irritability," says Dr. DeStefano. "Based on my observations, the average time that it takes for patients trying Effisoy to experience relief is only two to three weeks longer than those using hormone replacement therapy and they feel reassured that they are able to use a natural product without negative side effects."

Based on this and the testimonials I read by woman who have tried it, I think I am going to order some and try it. I tried the Revival, but it gave me stomach troubles, ie gassy and bloated.

The other thing that impressed me about this stuff is that it is in clinical trials.

To further validate the benefits of AglyMax (the process used to derive the effisoy product) on menopausal symptoms, clinical studies are being performed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.

For those living in the Boston Metropolitan area and interested in participating in the on-going clinical trial, please contact the investigators directly.

Yup, I am ordering it tonight!

Let me know if you try it. I would love to compare experiences with anyone else who has tried or tries it.

Could anyone tell me what effisoy is I have had to stop revival soy as my blood is showing antibodies to it so have an intolerance of Soy but I read in Ann Louise Guttermans book that even if you are allergic to Soy food you can still take the isoflavones derived from it, is this just isoflavones and has anyone else had intolerance to soy but can take this , I really want to go back on the isoflavones as I felt so much better but dont want the allergies to the actual Soy protein , any advise would be welcome as I was really feeling so much better with it.

Hi Clarissa
Effisoy is an alternative for Revival. Much different though - not a powder to be mixed but a pill - and you only need one a day!!
I live in Europe and the cost of getting Revival to me was enormous...although I did have good results. However I've stopped with that due mainly to the shipping and import costs and decided to try Effisoy.(just normal postage and no duty fees due)
Do a google search and you will find them and read about the fermentation process they use to make the pills.
I believe you live in the UK? (noticed you on other posts) so bear in mind they don't normally ship internationally but they made an exception for me ..they say because of my extreme interest in the product. Perhaps if they get enough interest from abroad they will implement the international shipping option as a norm. Anyway I just rec'd the stuff about a week ago so results aren't really happening yet ( hot flashes still as hot and sweaty as usual) but they say you need a month to really see results. I have a 3 month supply so I will be posting later when I actually see substantial results ....or none at all ohmy.gif
If you can't find the site let me know and I'll PM you with the url
cheers

Clarissa
Thanks Kathy I did find the site and they said thet would ship to me as an exception, so am seriously thinking about trying it

I am currently taking Effisoy and I love it. I could not tolerate the bloat from the Revival. I am starting to see the benefits and it is so easy to take. Also they have excellent customer service and will answer any questions that you have.

Clarissa
Thanks for your input on effisoy, I still am not sure if I can have it the company that make it say that they remove all of the soy a protein but the Nutritionists say it is still derived from Soy and I shouldn thave it, Soy helped me so much and I am devasted that I have had to stop it due to intolerance and am not sure if this would be OK do you find it helping as much as revival, I am in UK and they said they would do it special for me but I have to but three months supply and with the shipping it will be costly if if it dosnt suit, I am already stick with loads of revival shakes that cost a fortune wil shipping that I now cant use.
indmass
Hi Vanessa
how long did it take you to start seeing/feeling results?
I've been on it now for about 3 weeks and I'm still having pretty heavy hot flashes- but I'm optimistic as they say it takes a least a month for results. Curious to hear how others are experiencing Effisoy.
cheers
Kathy

Kathy, I started taking it for other reasons like PMS, I have not had hot flashes so I can't answer that one for you. I hope that it will work for you, but everyone is so different something that works great for one person may not work for another.

I can't say that I feel tons better, but it has helped my PMS. Quite frankly I am getting tired of taking "stuff." Working, and still have a 10 year old at home I can hardly remember to take anything!

Clarrisa, do you have garage sales in England? I sold all my left over packets of Revival at my yard sale. I thought what the heck it can't hurt to try and see if they sell and sure enough they did!

Vanessa
Clarissa
Thanks for that , we have car boot sales which are like garage sales, it cost a fortune and I am stuck with it so could be worth a try thanks

Have any of you tried Healthy Woman Soy Supplement Tablets? They are made by Monistat which seems to be a good brand. Each tablet is supposed to be the same as 1/2 lb. of tofu. They don't cost a whole lot, just $12.99 for 28 tablets....cheaper than the effisoy so i thought about giving them a try but wanted to hear any experiences first.
moonlight
just bumping this up(am i invisible or something...doesn't anyone see my posts anymore?)

sorry about the being invisible comment....just having a bad day. sad.gif

You're not invisible, Moonlight -- I, for one, just didn't have anything worthwhile to contribute. lol I have been reading the Effisoy thread with interest, though, because for some time I have been wanting to try the soy isoflavones, but the idea of mixing up a powder into a shake just doesn't appeal to me. Last week I did buy some tablets of "soy isoflavones" at a health food store, but I doubt they are any good, if price is any indicator of quality. I have taken some and have no idea if they're doing anything because right now I am going through a "good patch" anyway.

Does anyone know what we should be looking for on the label to determine whether these soy isoflavones are good quality or not, or whether they are providing the proper dosage (the instructions on mine say to take two 40mg tabs per day)? I would prefer to find a brand that I could just buy locally, but would be willing to order the effisoy off the internet if people think it's good stuff. I'm always suspicious of those "intenet only" products -- they have something of the smarmy midnight infomercial about them, but I'm sure lots of good products are sold that way.
moonlight
thanks for replying witsend....i shouldn't have made the invisible comment...there used to be an edit button on these boards and now that there isn't,i couldn't delete that part after i had posted it.I was just having a bad day.
The reason i am interested in the healthy woman tablets is because they are cheap,i can run to the drugstore and get them without ordering online, because they are made by the Monistat company and because their website says they are "standardized ".It is getting hard to gulp down so much soy milk every day and i thought if i could find a good quality tablet it would be much easier and cheaper.
Maybe i should go ahead and buy them and try them and be the first to post a review on them instead of waiting and hoping that someone else has tried them.?.?.?

Hi - here's an undate to all those interested in Effisoy. I have been taking the capsules for about 3 months now and have had great results. Better than I imagined! Was a little wary after the first month as the hotflashes were still pretty bad, but now - all gone...I mean NO hotflashes or night sweats for the past month and a half, which is pretty amazing after suffering with them every day for so long. Much better results than I had with Revival (and cheaper and easier to take ....and no bloating) And, I feel generally really good and full of energy too. Not sure if that's a result of the product or just feeling elated about living freely without day and night sweats, insomnia and itchy feet (yes my feet would get itchy at night along with the sweats blink.gif
ANyway just wanted to give my 2 cents about the product and highly recommend it - it doesn't work immediately but you should see results after 4 weeks or so. I suppose everyone will have different experiences but mine are good - for sure!
cheers

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for the update. I am strongly considering the effisoy but the price is so high - $25/month at the sale price, I am not sure if my budget can stand it.

However I was very interested in hearing from you about it. I have tried so many things and probably could have found relief from more traditional treatments except for an iodine allergy which means I can’t take the most common stuff like Dong Quai or Black Cohosh which for some reason both have iodine in them.

But not soy. However so far the soy I have tried doesn’t do the trick. I am taking Promensil - 2 tablets a day instead of the recommended one a day still experiencing the hot flashes. I have hesitated in taking the soy because it is suppose to suppress the thyroid with long term use. But the effisoy expert wrote me and said that was not a problem with effisoy.

So thanks for the update and blessings to you!

Lauryl

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for the update. I bought it, but haven't tried it yet. I had a negative experience with the Revival. Tried a few other things that didn't work or were not positive experiences. I am so leary about trying anything these days. It is nice to get feedback on new products from sources you trust.

I think I might give the Effisoy a try and see if it works.

Thanks again,
Hugs Susan

Hi Lauryl and Susan

I was on Revival for about 2 years and although I had so-so results, the bloating was a huge problem. That, along with the cost!! At $60 for a 30 day supply plus the way-over-the-top shipping charges to Europe made me start looking for something new. When I came across the mention of Effisoy on this forum I start researching.....and I'm glad of it. As per my previous mail, my enthusiasm is real and I can't help but give this one 10 out of 10. These are my experiences though, but I did read some other good testimonials on the effisoy website. I think the cost/results for me have been fantastic. It's half the price of Revival and shipping is minimal because there are no large bulky packages. And it's oh so easy to take too! No more fiddling with the soy shakes and trying to down the (let's face it) less than palatable stuff. Just one tiny capsule a day - I'm impressed!! Anyway I think giving it a try and assessing it yourselves is the only way to go. Give it time though. Good luck! Wishing you a wonderful and healthy happy new year!
cheers

I searched the e-fisoy site. The spokesdoctor works for the company but doesn't report that in his testamonial.

I searched the e-fisoy site. The spokesdoctor works for the company but doesn't report that in his testamonial.

I saw all the posts about Effisoy and went to the site.. I am impressed also. I have been using the Revival but like so many it gives me HORRIBLE gas, like flatulence so bad my husband has to sleep away from me.... and forget about sex when I have bad gas...., but it does help with symptoms especially sleep and vaginal dryness... so I just ordered the Effisoy. The price is much better for sure and I really like the fact that the soy is fermented and nonGMO.... fermented soy is the healthiest way to consume soy..
Also one capsule a day, fantastic.... I am really excited and when I receive my supple (buy one get one free offer) I will let you all know how it works for me..
I have been menopausal for 7 years now, starting at age 47.... I also have Meniere's disease so it is hard sometimes to tell which symptoms are from menopause and which are Menieres.. the nighttime dizziness and head pressure I get is horrible and am hoping that it may be menopause related and that Effisoy can help.

Take care all.

I am searching to alternatives to hormones for relief of my fuzzy headness...hormones only made it worse....and am wondering what the majority of you are taking this product to find relief from.....just for hot flashes?

In response to the person asking about Healthy Woman soy, I used it for about a year and it was fine. I had no problems with it. I also have used Soy Balance which is even cheaper and has more isoflavones in it. The Healthy Woman has 55 mg. and the Soy Balance has 65 mg. I actually prefer the Soy Balance and it's cheaper. Usually $8.99 at Target or K-Mart. Occasionally Target puts it on sale for $4.99. I bought the Effisoy and have been using it for about 2 weeks and I'm feeling worse. It only has something like 45 mg. of the isoflavones so I don't know. As of right now, I prefer Soy Balance.

Hello,

I started taking Revival soy about 2 weeks ago and I'm getting really bloated. I don't have gas, just bloating and my stomach is very distended. I also gained some weight on it and after losing 40 lbs. this concerns me. I may return my next shipment and try the effisoy. Hope it's less expensive. Where can you get it?

Thanks,

The Effisoy has to be ordered from their website. It's $29.00 for a month supply. I too had problems with Revival. Same things, bloating, gas, ankle swelling, retaining fluids. It seems - at least for me anyway, there's a fine line between enough and too much soy. When I used Revival I had sore boobs, I was dizzier, more bloating and general feeling pretty bad. The soy pills seem to work better for me. It seems like Revival is too strong. It's like I need some phytoestrogens but not that much. When I quit using Revival the dizziness was better (it's certainly not gone), the sore breasts got better. Oh and I had tons of palpitations on Revival. When I quit, they slowed down some. This is such a rollercoaster ride to know what to use and what not to use. The Soy Balance and Healthy Woman soy seem to work better for me though than Effisoy. Even though the Effisoy is weaker in mg. they claim your body absorbs it better. Since I started using it I've had the bad dizzy spells again and my palpitations are worse. I also get leg cramps if I'm on too much soy. It's like my body goes into estrogen overload.

There is a place to click and get a free sample of effisoy. I did that and received it within a week. It was a one month supply. So I am going to give it a try soon. Just started one other new supplment and want to make sure I don't have any side effects.

KareBare...so did you try the effisoy? If so,how did you like it?I received my free sample today and am curious how others are doing on it.

After reading Sister Mary's introduction where she mentions doing well on EFfisoy, I read additional posts at P-S that mention Effixoy, then checked out the Effisoy website. It does indeed sound very good. I just ordered a 30 day supply at half price, special introductory offer. did not find anwhere to click to get a free sample.

My sample should arrive by the end of the month. I sure hope it helps with the flashes which were not a big problem until about two weeks ago when they suddenly increased in frequency and intensity.

I am very interested in trading experiences also. Hope Karebear checks in here soon.

I'm going to have to check Effisoy out. I just ordered a 15 day supply of Revival to see how well I tolerate it. So far I'm doing okay. But Revival is expensive.

Hi all - I'm new to Power Surge but so grateful I found you!

I've read through all the Effisoy posts with interest. I am the "Martha C. - Pennsylvania" testimonial person on the Effisoy web site under "Skin Problems." It did take awhile for me to notice any diminishing of my symptoms, and I found that I had to be faithful and take it every single day (and because I'm PERIMENOPAUSAL - hello! - I am often spacy/flaky and forget).

Unfortunately, I'm finding that my itchy hands (and now, other itchy places - ugh) are back and waking me up again. So I'm not exactly sure what to do. The Effisoy is expensive, but I was more than willing to pay the price each month if it was working. But now I'm just not sure. For those of you with the itchy hands/palms/feet symptoms, last night around 12:30 when my hands were burning/itching/tingling I ran them under cold water for five minutes. That helped them stop itching and I could go back to sleep. This morning they were fine.

I'm wondering if maybe the benefits wear off after awhile? I'm also sweating at night now and then, too, which the Effisoy had formerly helped. Maybe, as with most things, there are a variety of factors and many variables that contribute to something working or not. Apparently there's just no easy answer to this whole menopause thing except to ride it out.
