Hello, I'm using the lowest dose patch of combipatch but am still getting severe bitchiness from it...is there anything similiar in patch form but without this awful side effect? I dont like taking pills or phytoestrogens, and soy screws with my thyroid too much....

Meno41 or anyone else on Combipatch. I have been on it since April 2004 and would like to discuss and/or compare notes. If you are on Combipatch, please post reply or U2U me! Thanks!

I believe progestin is in the Combipatch, which makes me depressed. I use a minute dose of an estradiol patch, and would use natural progesterone if it didn't make me feel more premenstrual. Natural progestone isn't available in patches, but is available in various forms. There seems to be some speculation that progestins are bad for the heart. I still have my Combi Patch in the fridge. I should throw them out. Another failed experiment. The patch I use is Vivelle's lowest dosage. Actually I sliced the estradiol dosage by three quarters, considering I couldn't tolerate either progesterone nor progestin.

CombiPatch contains a synthetic progesterone, but a different compound then Provera. I don't like anything that cause PMS type symptoms or depression, as a side effect. I'm sensitive, however.

I have been on theCombiPatch for about 6 months. Things were OK until this week. Have had cramping and spotting for 4 days. Also feel tired. I plan to call Doc later today.

I am giving in and will be seeing a doctor soon......i am seriously considering the combipatch....but,i get rashes just from using band-aids....how are the patches as far as skin irritation goes? One of the reasons i am interested in the patch is because i have read it's better to use a patch or gel if you are a smoker.

does anyone know how combipatch is as far as skin irritation goes?
I just read that the reason it's better for smokers to use a patch or a gel is because they deliver the same amount of estrogen whether you smoke or not.Evidently, smokers receive less estrogen than non-smokers when taken in pill form.

Hi everyone!

I used Combipatch for two years. The oral progesterone was too tough on my stomach and caused too much anxiety.

My peri-m symptoms did not abate when I was on HRT. I continued to have my period (albeit very irregularly). The fatigue I experienced last year was devastating. Also, the depression and anxiety were bad and the skin under my nose and mouth got very red and broken out. This January, I slowly got off Combipatch and found I am more alert and have less anxiety/depression. The redness on my face is almost gone.

My skin is very sensitive, so I moved the patch around a lot. There was some rash in certain spots, but not too bad. That was the least of my problems being on HRT.

I guess I would say that HRT did nothing for me, and exacerbated the fatigue and anxiety. Now I rub a little bit of natural progesterone cream into my skin every day. After being in peri-m for several years, I am just now having hot flashes.

I should also mention that I have fibroids and my GYN did two DNC biopisies, the last one in January. The results were negative.

Not a rave review for Combipatch. I would give it a D-.

Good luck to you all,
