Today PMS hit me like a brick wall, now my right hip is hurting >THATS a first. Plus I just hurt all over, it's like I'm coming down with the flu but it's PMS same ole cramp every month! AND I used to complain about PMS????? Here I am sitting with the AC on full blast and in front of fan (HOT FLASH)! sad.gif I thought life begun at 40, I'm 47 and the last five years has been HELL! I thought menopasue wasn't a disease> then why do I feel like I'm DIEING? Now I'm yelling at the dog for barking> yesterday I'm felt so well >TODAY sad.gif..........

HI SM56 Yes I also get the hip pain. Usually the week before my period it is the worst. I do get it at different times during the month but only for a day or 2. But the week before the CURSE,it is at it's worst. I have also noticed it's starting to feel like the leg is out of it socket and it cracks & hurts as I walk. Weird Stuff!! The flu feeling has let up alot in the last 7 months. I used to get that feeling all the time. I'd always be waiting to get the rest of the flu symptoms but they never came. Just had the feeling of getting hit by a speeding freight train!! Oh, what a JOY this Peri is!!! Peace AA PS My dogs get yelled at alot more now also. But they just look at me like "Yeah Right" and keep right on doing what they are doing!! They have trained me sooo well!! LOL

hip pain can also be caused from the sciatic nerve........i get that often.although it's the sciatic nerve, the pain can be felt in the hip and/or radiate down the leg.

I didnt know that JB. Thanks for the info. Once in awhile I get the pain going down the back of my leg also, but mostly it's in the hip. Peace AA

I swear natural endorphins nose dive before menses. This is always when my aches and pains are intensified. Oh the joys!!!!!! My natural endorphins, anyway. That's another theory that makes sense concerning PMDD.

CHRIS smile.gif I hope you know how much I look forward to your posts! I'm not much of a writer TG you can describe how I am feeling and even make me laugh! Right now I'm having PMS from hell! Sometime I worry I will just run from the house screaming!! I just feel I will go nuts! I think I would if it wasn't for you guys! Hey I got a funny story, about 10 years ago we moved and it was a long move over 10 hours. We moved three dogs and three cats and two horses. Of course I wasn't tired one little bit. But I notice my lower back was killing me. For a week I suffer! Then one day my big 80 pound lab jump up to say HI and knock me back on my butt. I hit the ground HARD! I tell you from the moment I got up I never had that pain again! Barney is gone and now I only have a Chihuahua. Anyone have a LARGE dog I can borrow!

I'm 43 and I have hip pain that seems to be excrutiating (sp?) right before I get out of bed in the morning. It radiates like a band around my lower back and through the intestines. My stomach is constantly swollen (OK so maybe this is fat) but it is still uncomfortable. Once I get out of bed and move around the intense pain goes away but there is a low level of pain that is with me all day. I hate to take drugs because they all leave me feeling more tired than I want to be. UGGGG! I just want to feel like myself again, it's been 4 years now.sad.gif

Thank God I found this page, I was starting to think I had arthritis or something.
For the last year to 18 months, Ive been experiencing a dull ache in my right hip, on and off. The last few days its been really painful, and Ive been worrying about it, and walking like an old lady! It wasnt until today, when I had a massive temper tantrum, and crying fit, that I started to think it might be PMS, cos I dont actually have periods, due to the marina coil, so I dont know when Im due one. But when I first had the coil fitted suffered awful PMS, that disappeared with antidepressants, and hasnt bothered me since, so I thought, but maybe I was wrong. Maybe the hip pain has been the start of it coming back.sad.gif

Hello Everyone and in particular lily07...
Just been on the site again after a few months as things got a bit better for me....saw a consultant re: Arthritis?......awful pain in left side and knees..........he prescribed weight loss which I have done but now am in a plateau............got to start again but Oh so difficult after the Summer holidays.....didn't put any back on but no loss for a while. When pain went it was almost overnight and I felt wonderful and have done all summer...........but now it is back with avengence........stabbing pains and a dull ache all the time..............and itching so that I could scratch the skin off my back........and red hot sweats..........so is it seasonal? Is it diet orientated or does it just come and go? Am monitoring it at the moment to see if it lasts as long as a period..........as it all seems to go in cycles.........thought feeling better was too good to be true......Hey Ho! Think maybe I need a good cry!! Good wishes to all!

Isn't it the pits mad.gif

The best remedies I've found are magnesium oil (not instant but usually provides relief

within 10-15 min), Vicks Vapor Rub, and a heating pad. Not in combination, I hasten to add!

Hope these help---

Still hurts though.
I dont know if Im starting the menopause, Im only 40, but my mum started at 38 so I could be.
Glad to hear from some that it gets better though.

Hey guys:

Just curious - I think that none of you ladies take estrogen right? either in the birthcontrol pill or HRT? I am 52 and I never have had pain in my body - it could be genetic, it could be that I do Yoga a lot, but I think its mainly due to the face that I have been on the pill since I was 48 - so I do think estrogen depletion is the cause of this - also to the person who was itching a lot - that is definitely a low estrogen issue - you guys should try supplementing with estrogen and then get back to me - hope you feel better - there is nothing worse than being achy all the time

There is a muscle that comes up through your legs and groin and wraps around your lower vertebrae. Ilias soas (sp?) If you google stretches for that, it might help. Mine was so tight I had to have a massage therapist help loosen it for me. Phew!
