Full Version: are my childbearing years over?
Power Surge Forums > Board Discussions > Am I Starting Perimenopause?
kerryva
Hello all. This is my first time here and I found the site because I am flipping out. I have been having night sweats for the last few evenings... waking up in a total sweat. I don't have any other symptoms of perimenopause, but that may be because I am on the pill and I know that can mask symptoms. My big worry-- I am 38 soon-to-be 39 and single. I want kids more than anything... does having perimenopause symptoms really kill my chances of having children? My sisters are 44 and 46 and are still having their periods. Oh, and another little problem. No man in my life smile.gif I am just wondering if I still have a chance to get pregnant.... Thanks for lending me your ears.

I believe that as long as you are having your periods that you can become pregnant so I would say that you are safe. Also, perimenopause can go on for years! I am 37 and have been experiencing it for about 2 years. The symptoms vary along with their severity, but most of the time its not too bad. I think the hardest part for me is that I am still sooo young, yet sometimes I feel ancient! The lack of libido is the part which is the most bothersome. I've got a wonderful husband who is loving and supporting through all of this but I really wish that I was a little more interested in intimacy. That has kind of flown out the window since I find intimacy quite uncomfortable now. I just bought the Revival Soy and I am hoping that it will have some benefits! Anyone else have any comments on this product? I would love to hear about it! Also, how is the taste? I hate soy products and hope I can get it down!! Thanks everyone! All the best to you kerryva! Keep a positive outlook and definitely do not give up on your dream of children. I have one. She and my husband are the greatest joy in my life! All the best... 2young4this

2young, I started on Revival soy last August. It took some time for me to notice a difference in the way I felt, but I feel pretty good now. I was experiencing anxiety more than hot flashes and it has almost completely gone away. I love the choc/peanut butter bars. I have tried almost all their products. I liked the shakes but I think the bars are more convenient. I can't say they helped me in the libido area sad.gif but I recently started on bioidentical testosterone and am really hoping this does the trick - I miss it!! Good luck to you smile.gif

I've been using Revival for something like 6 years now and I love it. I think that the taste is great, too - I get vanilla unsweetened and add fruits to change the taste whenever I feel like something a bit different. You can read hundreds of comments on the Revival Soy / Soy Isoflavones Board, a little down the list of available boards, or you can click on the blue words to get there. If you have specific questions about Revival or soy in general, you can always ask Dr Tabor in the Power Surge Ask The Experts area.
