Has anyone ever tried any of those self-tanning creams? With summer coming, I like to wear sandals with dresses and skirts. My daughters say that it sooooo uncool to wear hose with anything open-toed. But my legs are so pasty white that I think it looks worse going bare. I haven't the time to sit in the sun, nor do I want to. I also don't want to look orange or streaky. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which are the best ones out there? Thank you.

DCamp,
I live in Florida and you wouldn't believe how many people are NOT tan down here. I am Italian and I get a tan just walking to the mailbox and back but I don't sunbathe.
I used the self-tanning lotion on my legs a few summers ago and it didn't make me or my friends turn orange or streaky. I think I bought the Sun de Solei brand in K-Mart.
Use is sparingly and scrub your hands, especially the palms of your hands and in between your fingers immediately after applying it. Watch out around your ankles, depending on if you have dry ankles, the lotion will look darker there.
By the way, there are lots of girls down here that wear hose with open toed shoes !!!

Hey Dcamp....I use it ALL the time! I am not a sun worshipper, and I glow white if I don't use the stuff! They claim it is perfectly safe - and compared to the effects of too much sun, SAFE is a good thing! I use Neutrogena Instant Bronze. It's a sunless tanner and a bronzer all in one. It's streak free foam and I use the 'medium' so I don't look TOO dark. I have fair skin.
GOOD luck!

Thanks Mattia and Kleeo
I use the Neutrogena products a lot so I think I'll give that one a try. I have a wedding to go to on June 19 and I would really like to wear a pair of neat open-toed evening sandals that I just bought and I don't want my legs to look ghostly white. Thanks for the responses. Donna

Donna, there is also a makeup to use on your legs. I've never tried it.

I've used a product called Tan Towels from either HSN or QVC, I can't remember which one.
They are towelettes that fold out (just like a wet nap) with a clear, citrus scented self tanning agent on them. I've never streaked from it and it is super easy to use. Not messy at all. Just wash hands afterward so you don't end up with tanned palms. The color is more of a brown. I've never noticed any oranginess at all.
