older female w/blood cancer. If it reduces anxiety, it could make one too relaxed?

Hello Labrador, I have been taking xanax off and on since entering the wonderful world of peri a few years ago. I take .25 milligrams as needed. I've never had knees buckling or incontinence. My suggestion to you would be to mention it to your doctor. If you're taking other drugs it could be a drug interaction side affect or maybe your symptoms are caused by something else. I'm not saying it ISN'T from the xanax, just stating that I've used it for a few years and that has never happened to me.
Hugs!

I suppose the Xanax could make you
feel sluggish or lightheaded, which could
cause buckling knees. Incontinence
and Xanax seems unlikely, but everyone
is different. It could be a med interaction.

Dear Labrador,
If it's reducing the anxiety, that's good but feeling too relaxed could be that it might be too high of a dosage or an interaction with other drugs. Please speak with your doctor - perhaps a dosage adjustment is in order.
The reason I take xanax is to alleviate anxiety and panic attacks. All it does for me is take it away and I have no lightheadedness or drowsiness. It merely brings me back down to earth with no side affects what-so-ever. I take .25 or sometimes 1/2 of that when I feel the anxiety coming on.
Hope this helps you ...
Tina
