could someone please help. I have been under so much stress lately and about an hour ago I had a headache (of course my brain tells me its from a tumor or stroke) and suddenly my legs went weak and I am now shakey with my heart racing along with a dizzy spell. I am so afraid and scared right now. I dont know if I can take much more. Will this ever stop. I tend to get more symptoms after my period, which of course runs every 22days. I have just started having dizzy spells about 3 months ago. Any one out there with similiar feelings or am I going nuts?

Hi there. I have had the same feeling that you are describing MANY times. I sometimes wonder if it's a pre-cursor to a hot flash, or maybe just a silly little anxiety 'moment'. My legs will feel almost 'weak', and I get shakey and sweaty sometimes. Just plain scared. But each and every time, I make it through, only to realize that I'm fine, and it was just a 'moment'. But that's me! Every person is different! I hope you are feeling better now.
Hang in there!

Periweary,
if you go to 'other meno issues' page 4, you will find posts under 'legs not working' there. This used to be a symptom for me, and was all part of the anxiety bag of goodies. As long as you've eaten properly it's more than likely anxiety. I still get this sometimes although I'm 20 months post.
Hope this helps
Luv Jenniffer

Periweary,
I too have been having dizzy spells, for about a month. They are frightening and so distracting. I make up my mind I'm going to have a great day, and not going to think about my beleagered body, and then - BAM! on comes a dizzy spell. How do I just ignore this?
And I've been prone to feeling off-and-on weakness in muscles for many years - this is also a symptom of some people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia. This is less frightening, because I've learned to live with it. Also easier to take in general than dizziness, which is more debilitating.
Hang on Sister - you are NOT alone!

When I first started peri two of my worst symptoms were anxiety and dizziness. I had no idea what was happening to me. Thought it might be a stroke or a brain tumor. Why not be as dramatic as possible?!!! It amazes me that even though I was 48 years old, the thought of menopause never even entered my mind. Anyway, now that I am officially post, (haven't had a period in about 13 mos), I am not nearly as anxious nor do I suffer from dizziness anymore. Hang in there. It should get better. I have the ladies on this board to thank for helping me get through some scary times.

Finola, I'm glad I'm not the ONLY one itching today! lol I'd swear I had chicken pox or poison ivy but no bumps! This seems to happen to me normally a week before my period is due. Strangest thing I've ever experienced......NOT to mention ANNOYING! I find if I take an allergy/sinus med it helps somewhat.
OY VEY! What next!

Kleeo and Finola, there's a whole, very long, topic about itching on the
Other Menopause Issues Board. The thread is called
Itching/Hives There are 518 replies, so you've got company. Intense, random itching was one of my worst meno problems.

Thank you MaryO. I remember reading previously that itching was a horrid symptom for you. You really have to experience it to truly understand I guess! Such a lousy annoyance.
It really gets bad the week or so before I bleed. And off and on through out the month I notice it takes NOTHING for me to break out in little itchy rashes that sometimes will turn into a 'hive' or hives that go away in a short amount of time. Thankfully, I have Power Surge to help me realize I don't have the creeping crud or something!
I've never tried benadryl for the itching, Finola. That's a good thought though, if it will help you! I took benadryl once or twice in the past and it made me a little woozy. I've found that a temporary fix is using Gold Bond Medicated powder on an area where it REALLY gets bad, like my stomach and under my breasts.
