just turned 45 and diagnosed menopause. My lower back, buttocks, backs of both legs, tailbone are in constant burning pain particularly when sitting. Vaginal burning seems to have quite for now...but this other pain is killing me. Is this at all normal for menopause. Doc say probably...says my ovaries are "finished"...so I guess that means this is full blown menopause. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Maybe talk to your doctor about getting some tests done to see if you have back problems, etc. I know back problems can cause alot of pain in several different areas.
I have scolosis (just recently diagnosed in August). I am 45 and have to wear a scolosis back brace 16 hours per day. I went to my regular doctor in January complaining that my right side hurt and that perhaps I had gallstones or another kidney stone. I thought I was going crazy & he just blew me off.
Went back in August, insisting something was wrong, he did x-rays and found I had scolosis in 2 areas in my back. Am now wearing a scolosis back brace for 16 hours per day. Recently within the last month, I've got the burning pain in pelvic, hips, and kidney area and you can barely touch my ribs because the brace is curving me back to the correct position the spine should be in.
I was also diagnosed with endometrosis 2 years ago and put on the depo provera shot. My endo wasn't bad at all and my OBGYN was surprised I wasn't in pain. I'd just go get the shot every 3 months and everything was OK till just lately.
I go for an internal/external sonogram on Monday and am anxious to find out what is going on in there. My bladder feels like it's on fire as well as my hips and kidneys at times. My OBGYN told me last visit that perhaps he will give me the Lupron shot the end of this month instead of the depo provera but I am leary. The Lupron will throw me right into menopause.
I am trying to avoid a hystorectomy but I am at the point now where I'd do anything to stop this pain. I feel like I am a mess. I do take a mild pain medication for the scolosis but it is not helping the pelvic pain. I take .25 mg of xanax 2xday and that helps with the anxiety that comes with the pain.

Wow, mattia, you're going through some heavy stuff.
Good luck with your tests, and I'll pray that your back & internal problems improve soon.
Let us know how you're doing...

Thanks so much joliejacq.
It's strange how all these different problems affect me from day to day (mentally I mean). I try to stay up-beat and optimistic but it's rough at times.
I'm typing without my glasses so if I am misspelling, please pardon (grin !!).
When I find out the results of the tests, I will re-post here. It's nice to lay out all the problem here with everyone because I don't like to whine to others at work and at home.
Take care,
Tina

I am learning so much here today! I don't know if this is coincidence but I have been having severe back and pelvic pains as well. Although I am going through other problems as well, I've just been diagnosed with IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) and will have a colonoscopy on April 15th to find out what is causing it "hopefully". I've done nothing but lay in bed all weekend now because I hurt so bad.
I kind of feel like with all these pains, hot flashes and fatigue, I'm just falling apart LOL

.
I'm so sorry that all of you are also in pain but I want to thank you for sharing and letting me know that I'm not alone.
Isn't it strange how our physical health plays so much on our mental health!
Wishing you all well!
