I just recently stopped taking birth control pills. One of the symptoms my doc told me to be aware of was hot flashes and night sweats (they were virtually non-existant while on the pill).
Well, sure enough it's been 14 days and wham...I must get about 6-10 hot flashes a day not too mention night sweats.
I am starting to question whether or not these are all hot flashes because they are happening too frequently.
Anyone else experience a VOLUME of flashes?

I have days when I have many hot flashes, too many to count, but then have other days with very few. Not because I have discontinued the pill like you, but just because of menopause. Are you menopause age? (whatever that is!)

I have had days where I would have one hot flash right after the other. Not to mention the rubber band snapping thing on my skin( formication). Sometimes in the beginning I don't think there was any time during the day or night I did not feel hot. This is not normal for me, as before perimenopause began I was cold a lot. I do have some day's now when I don't have them so much.

I counted one night between 9 PM and 1AM I had over twelve hot flashes and some lasted as long as 5 minutes. I also had them all morning long with nausea. Now that I have been taking Revival soy milkshake once a day I haven't had any hot flashes in the last two days. It's wonderful, I was going crazy. I was so tired and moody from not getting any relief.

Oh my gosh, I know how you feel. Most days I have 10-15 hot flashes and 2-4 at night. I read somewhere that 3-4 a day are considered "severe." Ha, if that's true, what on earth are mine considered?!!!
I have to say, I don't know what happened, but my hot flashes and night sweats have disappeared for now.
Don't know why but won't question it.

I take Vitamin E and it helps the hot flashes tremendously!!
Give them a try......I take 2 / 200"s a day.
Hope this helps

I always said, "I have one hot flash a day -- ALL DAY!" And I did during my perimenopausal years. I don't think there's an "average" for any woman.
Read the articles on hot flashes in the

Also - read the

Glad to hear you're only using 200 IU's of vitamin E at a time. This has been Power Surge's recommendation over the years. Many people don't realize but vitamin E in larger doses has the potential to cause hypertension - especially in those predisposed to or living with hypertension - and it's more common during the perimenopausal years then ever before.
So, be safe and stick with no more than 200 IU's at a time. You can read more about it on the
Recommendations page - scroll down to vitamin E and read about the benefits and cautions.

I can handle my days, I get about a dozen hot flashes during the day. But the nights!!! I have them every hour on the hour and sometimes in between. I need to get some sleep! I used to sleep 8 hours solid no problem, I feel like I am going crazy.
I have tried a few things, but am going to try Vit E. Has anyone found that eliminating coffe has helped? I have about 2 - 4 cups a day. Mostly before noon. I don't know how I will stay awake during the day without it.
Hope someone can help me!?!?

I wish I had 3 or 4 a day. There are days I have one every 30 mins. those are the days I just sit by a fan, as I'm too exhausted to move. I'm better in cool weather, but that's a joke, I'm in Florida.

Like someone said, I get quite a few some days and then one or two other days. At night, two to three very warm flashes. Kind have gotten used to them. I hate having look forward to summer in addition to the flashes.
