has anyone else had "runs" of rapid heart beats, premature atrial contractions and high blood pressure......? I have tried to control all this naturally..I am 48...on progesterone cream etc...still cycling.....have a two day period....can't wait to get off this hormonal roller coaster,,,,take a lot of supplements...no herbs or stimulants......recently my pressure was too high and stayed high and started having more "runs" of tachycardia and some PACs.....so scary...I now take low dose Atenolol, and a diuretic w/ potassium suppl...thanks for all your listening ears and encouragement!!

Hi Sunny -
Sorry that your going thru so much ...and so many things at the same time. God Bless You.... I have had (and still do at times) the rapid heart beats, palpatations, high blood pressure problem. The Dr. put me on a monitor to check the rapid heart beat, palpatation, etc.....everything turned out to be "normal" - my heart was a-ok - thank goodness;). The Dr. felt I was having major anxiety/panic attacks - I use a small doss of Xanex as needed (don't use it everyday). As far as my blood pressure - it was high and stayed high like you. I didn't want to be put on medication so I tried to work with the problem instead of against it. I questioned what made it so high - I felt some of the problem was thru stress (family problems, relationship problems, health problems - hoping my brain surgery would heal faster then what is has, etc.). That's when I realized that the stress was destroying me mentally, emotinally and physically - so I try to relax and meditate - ahhh, calming, peaceful, quiet time just for me - then I checked the blood pressure reading - guess what - it was lower then it had been for a long time. Now I take "quiet" time for me everyday - calming music, thinking about ....nothing - even if it's just in the bathroom - haha.... My blood pressure is now normal and the Dr.'s are happy and more important - no medication for me. Your hormonal roller coaster is horrible - when your hormones flucuate - that's maybe when the rapid/palpitations starts carrying on. Is your Dr. aware of your rapid heart beats? Have you had a complete check up? Keep checking with the board messages, they are fabulous Sunny - you'll see that your not alone.
Blessings,
Stacy

Sunny & Stacy--WOW!! Same stuff is going on with me!! The last 2 months have been so difficult. I thought I was thru all this stuff but my body had other plans!! No need to go into details but between palps, HBP, anxiety, etc. I thought I was dying. Even ended up in the ER last week because I had all the symptoms of a heart attack!! This week I did the Holter Monitor test and that came back ok. So, I guess I'm not going to die at this juncture!! I will probably go back to a meno specialist that I saw last spring. Maybe she can give me some insight and help as my PCP just said that my heart was ok. I am, by nature, an anxious person and am using Xanax as needed. However, the palps are something fairly new and scary. I am sorry that we have to go thru this junk. My daughter is pregnant and has raging hormones and I'm 55 and have raging hormones. Go figure!! After reading your posts I don't feel so isolated but I truly wish that none of us have to go thru this.
Imagine, I thought puberty was rough!!
