I have had this heavy bleeding for 2 weeks with no sign of let up. I am on natural hormones and admit that I did forget to take them some days the past month. This period was also a week late. I have gone through onto my clothes twice now - very embarrassing - haven't done that since I was a teen. I called Pete, my pharmacist today and he said to wait 3 days and then we might have to double up on the progesterone. I am thinking this might lead to a hysterectomy which I am really afraid of - I really need to know how others have dealt with this. Thanks for listening!

Join the club, for the past few months I have been the same, bleed for 2 or 3 weeks then get a couple of days off, very heavy. My doctor has suggested a hyteroscopy, I hope it helps.

I had a period once for ten days. Then the next month it lasted for six but within 3 days I had a full period again! The period where also unusally heavy. My gyn put me on Orth Triclene and so far it has helped but I still get hotflashes, night sweats, and moodswing. I'm going to see him again in a few weeks.
You might want to up your protein intake, eat foods rich in iron, B vitiamins, and folic acid. Your loosing alot of blood and it might help prevent anemia.
good luck- hope that helps some

Hold off on the hysterectomy, if you can put up with all the bleeding. I bled everyday for 3 years, until it started to just go for 2 weeks only. The bleeding was heavy and I would have clots...it was a mess. The past year, I did not have any bleeding for 7 months, but then I had another heavy period last month...I guess I am still in perimenopause. Unless there are other problems associated with your bleeding, I would suggest that you just wait it out, the solution to the bleeding is not to get it at the source.
