Hi

I am 7 years post hysterectomy and at the time of my surgery I also had what is known as a Raz procedure done on my bladder to fix an incontinece issue along with putting my bladder "back where it belongs". Well, lo and behold, I reach year 7 and I start experiencing problems with recurrent UTI's and leaking again. I was referred to another urologist who said the procedure I'd had done before typically only lasts 6 or 7 years and that I need to have another surgery. This time they want to put a sling under my bladder and will go in vaginally to perform the procedure rather than making an abdominal incision. Once that is done he says I should be leak free however will need to continue using estrogen cream to keep things moist and supple.
First, is there anyone else who is having problems with incontinence (especially during sex

) and has been told they need to have this procedure done?
Second, ladies, if you have to have surgery to repair issues with incontinence, please, please, please ask your urologist just how long you can expect to be problem free. I had no idea that the procedure I had done would only last 6 or 7 years. If I had known that, I would have asked that we investigate other options (which I find out now were available at the time). Do your homework ladies!!
