Hi, I, like alot of gals here have read and enjoyed Dr Erika's chats and her book. I e-mailed her with a qt. using the power surge invitation for a free consultation. That was about 4 days ago and I haven't received a response. I hope she is still able to honor that wonderful offer. I hope I haven't mnissed out on an opportunity. Does anyone know? Thanks. Hi, I am using Dr. Erika's natural hormones. I don't know if she is still giving the free consultation but you can go to the website of her pharmacy and fill out a form and receive the hormones from there. There is a $25.00 charge but if they fill your prescription, they refund that charge. Then it says that you can get a telephone consultation for $100.00 or an office visit for $300.00 . Brenda

Thanks dear Brenda, smile.gif I've seen that site and I am still hoping that Dr Erika will respond to my e-mail question. I have a specific question that I need answered. I'll wait a few more days and report back as to whether I received her response. Other gals will probably be interesting in knowing too, whether she is still able to honor what she offered last month in her interview here. I'm glad you responded and I wish you wonderful things with your prescrption. smile.gif Tedi "in waiting"

Just touching base, as I promised. It has now been over a week and I received no response from Dr. Erika when I e-mailed her a question referencing the power-surge site. I do not expect her to respond at this point. Personally, I plan to put no more energy into this attempt for contact. You ladies, may have a different experience. We'll all find our answers somewhere within this wonderful world of healing and giving souls. Tedi

Hi Tedi, Just curious? Did you send your question through the "Ask the Expert's" website? I have sent 4 or 5 questions and they have always been answered in 4 to 5 days. I know it is frustrating and makes you want to try something else. Good luck with your search. Brenda

I asked a Question to dr erika and it took 4 to 5 days and now after the consultation i have had an email after i aske a question and also a phone call telling me i have to wait till mon for them to review my info. if u have not received an answer be persistant. that happens to me when know one responds for a while and i really push hard because the peri-meno is pushing me hard. they are really busy and u have to keep trying. on the post before they asked u if u tried the ask the experts area-------that usually works pretty well. do not give up. love darling:)

A final update for anyone that is interested.....still no response to my resubmitted e-mail to Dr. S. It's interesting to see the various reviews on pattypitt's thread, regarding the service delivery method and costs used by this specialist. Actually, I have researched and found a very astute local internist who is willing to work with me and it's a simple insurance co-pay when I see her. Things have a way of working out for the very best, and I am grateful that my searching led me to this excellent, responsive professional. I can also trust her to co-ordinate any necessary pharmaceutical referrals. Other ladies may obtain a response from Dr. Erika. We'll certainly all be able to find what direction is the right one for each of us. smile.gif Sending good thoughts and wishes to all the dear meno ladies, Tedi

Power Surge has always prided itself on associating with the most respectable, knowledgeable, decent and reliable experts. What I would recommend in this instance is to go to the Ask The Experts area, especially to Ask Pete Hueseman, R.Ph, P.D. who's been Power Surge's pharmaceutical and natural hormone consultant for over 8 years. Pete is a registered pharmacist and doctor of pharmacy as well and is very knowledgeable about menopause, about naturally compounded hormones and has been a pharmacist for 30 years. I have never heard one negative thing about Pete from all the women who've dealt with him via Power Surge in all the years I have known and recommended him. Dearest

Thanks, (((Dearest))). This bb has been, and continues to be extremely beneficial, as an avenue for women to discuss and learn about meno-related issues/options. I do appreciate your reminder of the various other resources in 'Ask the Experts.' It's great to know so many "helpers" are available to us. Again, I am so happy that you have invested your time and energy into the development of this supportive board. Thanks soooooo much!!! smile.gif Tedi

Actually, this message board portion of the website is very small compared to the hundreds of transcripts, pages and pages of up-to-date articles, experts, helpful books, a great many resources for us to use, all provided by Dearest to help us through this difficult time in our lives. Here are some convenient links. Even these aren't "all" that there is to Power Surge, and Dearest is always adding new things for us! The Power Surge Quick Links at the top right of every page here has other pages listed that aren't included here and the Site Map has even more on links on it.

I actually had quite a bit of difficulty with Pete and know others have posted in the past that they did too. I don't, however, necessarily think it was him - or Dr. Schwartz for that matter. I think we are in an exacperating predicament... we are searching for answers that people truly don't have because not enough research has been done. I know, for example, Pete constantly increased my estrogen because he believes that low estrogen causes anxiety. This contradicts pretty much everything I have read. Maybe it works for some but not for others. Maybe progesterone is the answer for some but not others. Truly the best we can hope for is someone who will work for us after we have educated ourselves. I have found that even the natural prescribers try a "one size fits most" approach and that if you deviate or have weird symptoms they don't know how to handle it. In my case after trying to work unsuccessfully with them I took their information and have gone back to my NP and she writes me prescriptions. I note that the thing I love about Dr. Schwartz's pharmacy is those little syringes enable you to be your own doctor and find out what works with a hit or miss approach. They also enable you to change your dosage depending on cycle, days' fluctuations, etc. If you are actually able to get in touch with either Pete or Dr. Schwartz you will find they don't have an exact answer but will tell you to adjust your dosage anyhow and then call back. It is very frustrating because one would think after all these years there would be definitive answers but there are not. I thank goodness Pete and Dr. Schwartz, as well as this board, are here to educate but there is no "cure" yet!
