Have any of you experienced a tight pulling painful feeling under your chin. It has been bothering me on and off for a month. Im not sure if it is anxiety driven or a streched muscle. Yuck I hate this!!!!

Ive been feeling the same thing...but it's in my chest, all over the chest area..it freaks me out...I've had it before a few months ago. It worries the heck out of me. Hugs Moozie

I've been feeling the exact same thing, Nina. I thought at first, I may be getting a sore throat but it seem to come on all too sudden, like I had strained a muscle in the part of my tongue that is well into the throat. Overnight it seemed to have gotten better until today during lunch BUT I had turned my head to answer a coworker and BANG, it happened again and now I was having trouble swallowing. Now I'm not sure if this is an infection or if it's stress or nerve related. Anyway, I had to reply to your post to see if you're feeling the same way.

What is this place, anyhow? blink.gif Oh God, Am I really in a menopause forum? Sorry for intruding, Ladies. I didn't know. blink.gif smile.gif

Sounds like anxiety to me. I'm trying something for my anxiety...an experiment. (tho I'm not ready to say what it is..cuz it might not work) I was taking Paxil, and had upped to 40's...but still have the awful anxiety, internal shaking, panicy. Well, I don't want to use that much Paxil..so I'm trying something different....will keep you posted....

but....you all seem to have anxiety too. (don't we all sooner or later?) I've been doing meno. for 6 years and this is the first time my anxiety has been this bad. I hate it. I would have thought after all these years, I'd be getting less symptoms..not more. I don't want any more...I have enough already.. boo hoo.. whine whine wink.gif

You are probably correct. I hadn't really thought about it 'till now. I'm recently in a relationship where I've got two teens, boy and girl, to deal with and at the same time I see less of my own daughter and I know that's killin' me.

You are correct, we men go through meno too (at least the ones who stay close to their lovers)

Hi Nina, long time no see! Hope you've been doing okay. I get something similar to what you are describing, and I think it's from 'clenching'. I tend to do this when I'm stressed or anxious. Do you think you might be doing the same thing? I wouldn't be too concerned over it, and if it continues to hurt without ease, let your doc know. I have TMJ and that causes lots of 'jaw/chin/facial' pains.
Hugs to you,
Kleeo

CatCollins...you're a DUDE??? Cool.....welcome aboard...so like is your SO going thru peri and like you are here to find things to help???!!!

Actually, I was answering to Nina's question which I found on Google and realized that I registered on this forum, LOL. But now that I am here, I can certainly use the help in dealing with my Goddess. She's not going through meno yet but she has serious mood swings. When she gets depressed she finds any little thing she can to get angry at me. How do I deal with that? How do I help her?
