I don't understand why, but if I drink a cool glass of water (without any food) I often get  a hot flash.  It doesn't make any sense to me.  Of course, I also get flashes from chocolate and some carbs, as some of you do.  But the water thing has me stumped.  I drink it anyway,  though.

Yes Madge, I too experienced the after water drink (hot flash) episodes until the dr gave me TriEst crm. I was stunned just as you. I am glad that it does not happen anymore. MADGE, YOU ARE SANE AND NOT ALONE!!! If you can, try bioidentical natural hormone therapy. So far so good. Good Luck

Yes! I have been having this phenomena lately ~ very strange, especially as when I did a google "water, hot flashes" every site said to drink a glass of cool water to stop a hot flash ??? so then I typed in the full question "when I drink water I have a hot flash" and bingo! Power Surge came up! So I am not alone. I would really like to know what is going on here too as I have the water then the flush!
Does this mean everything we post in here can be googled? blink.gif

HI Madge,

I do not get a hot flash from drinking cool water but here are some things that do give me flashes sometimes.

1. Hot drinks

2. Rushing around in a hurry. Minimal effort at anything causes me to SWEAT. I have never had this problem before.

3. Hot shower

4. Hot weather

5. Being tired and/or stressed

It's good that you continue to drink water though. I am lucky that I can at least control some of the things that cause me to flash. I also only have sweaty palms when I have a hot flash. Its strange but the sweat literally drips off my hands.
I get hot flashes in my feet also.

Hi Jimi

Maybe you should just sip the cold water. Water is really good for you!
I can still remember my Mother when she was having a hot flash she would
dash & get a drink of water. Looks like some things never change.

Hope you feel better soon.

In great fear I googled "chin hair"...nothing from PS popped up on the first page, but there were some results that looked like they belonged here!
