Hello there ladies!

I have recently started having hot flashes (O! Joy!) primarily during the entire day (no night sweats -- yet!), and was wondering, since I am so new to this whole thing, if anyone else here was having a similar experience to me.

When I have a flush (sans sweat as of now), I notice it most on my chest, my throat, my cheeks, down the underside of my arms, the bottoms of my feet and -- here's the really weird part -- my vagina!  It's as if someone put a little heater wand up there!  

I have never experienced anything quite like this and would like to know that I'm not alone in this.

Anyone else out there??  Anyone? Anyone?  Bueller?

I seem to experience the same thing alot.  Not always, but still it's alot of the time.  My flushing (neck and face) usually starts in the early afternoon and at times i feel like my vaginal area is having a flash too.  Your not alone on this one.

Hi..sorry that you have to experience the hot flashes.  I personally have never had that experience, BUT I have a dear friend that does.  She told me about it and like you..thought it was strange..BUT I am hearing that it is common for alot of women.  Hope you feel better, and stay as cool as you can!!  :>) Hopefloats

Wow!  Thanks ladies, for letting me know I'm not the only one!  From the lack of replies there for awhile, I was really beginning to think I was.

Since first posting I have moved onto the beginning of night sweats (or day sweats if I'm napping) which is very wierd for me being a total nonsweator.

Interestingly, my Mom recently had her ovaries taken out and within a few days of surgery she began experiencing irritibility, hot flashes, and night sweats -- she's 70 and 20 years postmeno -- man was SHE cranky when that happened.  The strange thing was one of the symptoms she also complained about was the old flashing vagina!  Maybe it just runs in the family
