Well, my new doctor thinks my old doctor was too quick to claim that I was post menopause.  Since I was only off birth control pills for 3 months when they took the blood test, the "one year w/o a period" was never 'proven'.  I guess it doesn't really matter.  I wouldn't have wanted to go for a year feeling like I did!  I probably would have done the same thing anyway.  The crummy part is that I may have been spared 2 years of low level depression over early menopause if the doctor had approached the diagnosis differently.  

This doc feels my ovaries are still active and that is why I'm having such problems with fluctuation of hormone levels even while on the Pill.

Wierd.
