Hi Ladies As you know i used to love to come on here and read everyones daily insights into their lives. It helps i feel when perhaps you might be going through a difficult time. Of course my life has changed in that i now work and i just do not have the time like i used to which is sad as i get so much out of reading the different posts. I'd like to say that my life's so much better but its not i still have the anxiety, a fella that really is a waste of time but i don't seem to have the strengh to say well i'm sure you know what i mean wink.gif So i carry on and hope for the best which is all most of us can do and also i know that things could be far worse. I will try and say hello more often. Leanne is right well she always is is'nt she, sorry L you know me i had to say something. Oh and by the way we are having no summer at all this year so you will be pleased to know me BITS are well hidden and dreadfully white. Take care Pauline:
joliejacq
Alice, I ADORE King Charles Spaniels, but refuse to have a dog who is prettier than me!!!wink.giftongue.gif;)
finola
alice3~~what a cute story about how you got your dog to go to sleep~I would have loved to have seen that. I had a cocker spaniel once..I've never seen the kind you had..sounds so cute though!
jimi
Well, This is a nice surprise! tongue.gif Good Morning Ladies ~ LMAO Jolliejaqc...but don't they say that dogs look like their owners?...so cute would be good - no? biggrin.gif Pissin down here to coin an expression, which is a good thing....but! someone is picking me up in 2 1/2 hours to show me his new house....and it's still BLOODY FREEZIN! Last time I saw him he was riding a motor bike!..... what have I gotten myself into ohmy.gif I was seeing this man when I met my ex 9 years ago...funny that they come out of the woodwork when one splits up??? what do they have high frequency perception?...anyway it's just to look at his nest...ah house wink.gif G'Day Pauline ~ keep em covered lol
joliejacq
Jimi, How'd you like the house?wink.gifbiggrin.gif How cold does it get in Australia, anyway? I know little about your climate and landscape (I'm of the ignoramus Americanus species) - sorry! Jacquie
alice3
Glad you added the bit about the house Jimi...lost in translation and all!ohmy.gif And yes my dog and I could have been taken for twins! 'Cept I've got blue eyes and my bark is worse than my bite!
alice3
Keep your chin up Pauline! Things get worse before they get better and if they didn't how would we be able to gage the good? Sometimes you get so many horrible things happen all at once and you ask (apart from why me?) how many more things can happen? Then it all stops and things become great. Perhaps it's lifes way of making us appreciate things. If you look at the lives of famous stars they have so many good things that they seem to want to self destruct. They need to get back to basics to live life properly. My legs are white too due to so little sun this summer. My husband has gone to Birmingham (UK) today too!tongue.gif
paulinep
Hi Ladies Jimi I have no choice but keep them covered its blinkin frezzeing here and its supposed to be summer:( Went on the sunbed today yes i know their no good for you but i just had to get some colour on me. Going out to eat on Friday with my work friends from the cleaning job i do in the afternoons incase you all don't know i clean in the afternoons and do admin in a office in the mornings. Well i went shopping on Sunday for something to wear and most of the clothes in the shops are summer gear and i look so pale you need some kind of tan with those clothes. Thats my excuse anyway. I will of put on loads of weight by the time this week as ended as we break up for the Summer holidays here at the end of the week and its all parties and i have to eat the food of course it would be rude not to:D Alice I feel sorry for your hubby coming down here, its not that nice in Birmingham. I myself would love to live by the sea. Well take care ladies Pauline
alice3
Only for the day -on business Pauline. Birmingham can't be so bad, there's lots of nice places surrounding it aren't there?
leanne0721
Hi Ladies!! Was thrilled to see all of you on this thread!! My dear Pauline, yes it's true, I AM ALWAYS RIGHT:D It's a burden, I admit, but hey, someone's got to be!! LOL Sorry your weather isn't good enough to strut those glorious bits in the sunshine!! Maybe soon!! So Jimi.....old flame, eh?? I'm DYING to know what happened!! DO TELL!! I had a great weekend! It's suppose to be 90 here today, to bad my bits aren't as wonderful as P's! I hope all my meno friends are starting their week off HAPPY!!
Moira
Had to jump in here and agree with Alice and Pauline about the Summer over here (what Summer?) It feels worse to me because I do live by the sea and I am dying to pull the cozzie on and get down to Milford or Bournemouth with my bucket and spade. The school year ends a week on Thursday (hooray!) and I am so looking forward to a break...just need the weather to get better now. But before then (ta-da!) I have a great thing to look forward to. Last year I found a distant cousin on my Dad's side of the family on the internet. He lives in Australia, and on Saturday he is coming over to Southampton on business, and I will get to meet him for the first time ever. I am so looking forward to it, but the butterflies are starting to jump around in my tummy.ohmy.gif It's great to have something to look forward to. ((((Everyone))))
jimi
Well, I gotta tell ya, I had a wonderful day on Sunday ~ but the old bow and his house had nothing to do with it....Now where the house IS was the magic part...sitting on top of the world! Views to die for (and nearly did!)....looks out over the most beautiful valley with the mountains as a backdrop. As it was a wet day, the mist was rising all through the mountains....what a picture! We went for a 20k trek down through the bush - 10k down and 10 k back - thought we where both gonna die right there in the wilderness ....heart was thumpin climing back up to the house (and it wasn't the company) ohmy.gif;)tongue.gifbiggrin.gif The house was HUGE! and ultra modern...could fit a bowling alley in the garage, and every bedroom had it's own bathroom and walk in robe, swimmin pool out the back with views forever. Too grand for this little country bumpkin. As for him, well, lets just say...I have evolved and he hasn't lol. All he appeared to be thinking of was my arse! ohmy.gif....I just told him I wasn't sharing this cute little arse with anyone at the moment.....That answer your question Leanne lol. biggrin.gif ~Distant cousin from Down Under eh Moira? sound very exciting...keep us informed. Have a good one Ladies smile.gif
alice3
Moira, We've spent many a happy holiday round Bournemouth. Milford is lovely and so many big houses! We also holidayed in a barn conversation in Swanage. It's lovely there. Lucky you. Nearest to us is mucky Skegness or Cleethorpes. Yuk! We tend to head for Hunstanton or Norfolk coast which is 2.5 hrs if we don't want to go too far.
leanne0721
Well Jimi, at our age if he's looking at your arse, you should be flattered!! LOL I don't think my arse is where it use to be!! LMAO. Anyway....you HAVE evolved, and I have been lucky enough to witness a small part of that!! Alice- you are lucky to have been able to see the beauty of what Jimi speaks, I'm jealous!! Maybe someday...... Moira- Can't wait to hear about your meeting with new cousin!! New friendships are always so exciting, and you will have a family link. We're waiting here to hear all about it!! Finola....any bears yet??? The weather here in California is HOT!! Thank goodness for air conditioning!!
Moira
Why is it that when you want time to go quickly, it goes by slowly, and when you want it to go slowly, it goes quickly? I want the weekend - and I want it NOW!!ohmy.gif I've never been to Skeggy or Cleethorpes, Alice. By the way, the cousin that is coming from Oz used to live in South Ferriby in N. Lincolnshire, which is where my Dad's family came from originally. Are you anywhere near there? I do feel lucky to live here, especially since I was born and bred in the industrial Midlands, near Wolverhampton. My favourite day down here is a drive down through the New Forest to Milford-on-Sea, walk along Hurst Spit (lovely views of the Needles and the Isle of Wight), little ferry back to Keyhaven, lunch at the Gun Inn, then walk back to Milford to pick up the car, and back home through the Forest. Heaven.smile.gif I will certainly let you all know how I get on with my cousin. I'm not sure how much time we will have to spend together - he is here on business after all. If anyone is interested, here's a link to a photo of him on his website - he is with his daughter at her wedding in Sydney last January. In his emails he comes across as being exactly as he looks in the photo - a really nice guy: Gordon's photo Hope the link works! Love and xxxx M.
Moira
P.S. to jimi If a man ever expressed any enthusiasm for my arse, I would give him the phone number of a good optician. I am totally arse-challenged.ohmy.gif
joliejacq
Well, Gordon looks to me like an utter Sweetie-Pie! Attractive man, too!wink.gif
newjourneys
LOL - thanks for lifting my day - I hope you have a wonderful time with your cousin - how lovely to reconnect. Take care, nj

Good Morning Ladies tongue.gif ~ Dearest, I wonder could you make it so that when we post a reply, we can see the other posts??? some boards have it this way - cause I can't remember who said what when I am posting ~ the old memory ain't what she used to be sad.gif Ok, having said that, now I can't remember ANYTHING that anyone said!....gotta go back and check the posts.....well, I could get another page up and have two Power Surges I suppose.... Oh! to hell with it - having short term memory problems this morning.....Hope everyone is well biggrin.gif ~Love the music MaryO/Dearest tongue.gif
alice3
Funny you said that Jimi. Sometimes I can see the other posts, sometimes I can't? Is that right? I forget the names too. I don't like the music though, it interferes with the voices I've given to you all! That does sound a bit sad, but you avid readers will know what I mean!
jimi
VOICES! ....Alice3 ~ you have given us voices?...OK, that's fine.......just turn the volume down and you will be able to hear us again....wink.gif ~~~~~~~sneaking out ohmy.gif ACTUALY.....WHERE IS THE MUSIC?... ALICE?...what have you done with the music?

I'm not Dearest, but I know the answer, so I'm jumping in. Whether or not the past posts show is directly related to how long the thread is. Long threads would make particularly huge pages, so they aren't shown. This is one of those pages. They do give you an option, though. Right under the Post Reply and Preview Post buttons, there's a line that says "Topic Review This is a long topic, click here to review it." If you click on the link in the word "here" you will be able to see the whole thread.

I am VERY unknowledgable (? sp) when it comes to computers but I will tell you what I did to deal with this, I'm the same as you , I will forget what I am responding to sometimes--- anyway--- i pull up the thread that i'm reading and decide to post on--- instead of hitting reply--- i will pull down a new email message and type it there-- then i can look back at the open thread--- then when i am happy with what i've written-- i will copy it and then hit reply and paste it in the message square where i would be posting. Does this make sense tongue.gif anyway that is my solution melody

I do pretty much the same thing, Melody but just click on notepad to write what I want to say as I read through the often very long threads, then copy/cut and paste it into a post reply. Oh wait, was that WORD or notepad? LOL!! biggrin.gif:o:D Huggs
jimi
Thanks Melb and Trish!.......Ahhh! ~ It all comes back to me lol. I used to get the note pad up too! God, told ya the old memory was not what she used to be TA! biggrin.gif Oh! and thanks Mary tongue.gif

HI Everyone, this seems to be a good place to get to know people. What does everyone like to talk about? Looking forward to getting to know all about many of you!!!! Since Im in meno I needed to find people with the same stories , but everyone seems to have a different spin on all the issues we face....HAVE a GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!!
paulinep
Hello Ladies well its Friday and thank goodness for that. Schools break up here for the Summer term and as one of my jobs is working in a school i also have the next 4 weeks of. I cannot tell you how pleased i am so looking forward to it. Still have to do the other job but thats so easy compared to cleaning of which i hate:o. I'm looking forward to being on here more and chatting in the instant chat. As i write its pouring down, summer has left us Brits this year and the weathermen have nothing nice for us to look foward to how depressing is that. As the regular ladies know i love the sun and to not be able to sit out in the sun with a book gets me down. Well i'm of out tonight with my cleaning mates, one is celebrating getting a new job and i'm celebrating getting her job:D I just hope this headache goes of course my period decided to show up today and i feel all of balance. Oh well 2 drinks later and i won't know the difference:o What ever you are upto this weekend have a good one. leanne enjoy your boys visit and try and get as drunk as me which will not be hard to do. PS Welcome aboard sappy we are not such a bad bunch. Take care Pauline
alice3
Morning ladies, but it's not raining here in sunny East mid-Shires. More Spring than Summer though. I'm a happy bunny as the daught is back from Vegas, loves her newly decorated kitchen and has brought me two Oprah mags, which I'm looking forward to reading. Have a good weekend Cyberchicks!biggrin.gif

Hi Sappy~~good to have you here..we talk about everything on this thread so come back often~~ We have had some very hot humid weather but yesterday it changed, now it's just like fall, low humidity, blue skies, and cooler, but I know the heat will return so I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Our pumpkin plants are huge this year, I guess the heat and humidity are what they need..wish all you gals could see our field full of pumpkins. In September they will turn bright orange and it's a sight to see!! Hope everyone is feeling good today, I look forward to reading your posts in the mornings, I live in the country and it's fun reading about England, Australia , etc. I would love to visit another country someday, haven't been anywhere but the East, USA. Take Care All..~~HUGS~~

Mornin' Ladies - isn't it fun how we can almost watch the sun come up by noticing when people post from across the ocean and then head west? I'm glad it's Friday - today I'll head back to my (menopausal) nurse-practitioner to see if she has any new ideas up her sleeve. But I always weigh what she says against what everyone on PS says to figure out where the truth lies wink.gif Last night I sent a Dear John e-mail to the latest internet dating guy. Decided I didn't need yet another egomaniac male, even though we have lots in common. My previous internet guy is coming tomorrow to go kayaking with me. I broke it off, but he still wants to be friends. If only I could stop wanting to touch him it would be alright . . . Hope everyone has a good day - it's gorgeous here in central Virginia. Otter

It warmed my heart!!! I hope you do more of it, and I hope you enjoyed yourself (you party animinal YOU!!)biggrin.gif Reading ALL your posts put a smile on my face!! Glad everyone is doing well!! I am soooo happy it's Friday!! I plan on doing very little this weekend. My boys are coming for dinner on Sunday, I think I'll BBQ! I'm hardly a domestic diva, but I'm thinking of even making a pie!! Morning Ladies Well i did have far to much to drink but well i have a reason. Long story here but i'll just put you in the picture, the caretaker at my cleaning job wants to go out with me, nothings been said to me but he has told everyone else including his girlfriend not a clever thing to do. Well she was out last night with us and well i can only say i was verbally attacked most of the night by her. It spoilt my night and i just cut it short and went home. I had to or if i had anymore to drink i might of said things i should not and regret it in the morning stupid woman. My friend said that Tony (thats the caretaker) should of had a word with her but he never did. He said that he knew she was out of order. I would'nt mind so much if it was deserved but i have NEVER given her any reason to behave the way that she did. Oh well todays another day and it started of badly by the postman waking me up at the crack of dawn with a parcel and i could not get back to sleep. The weather is crap, Jimi you can glably have our rain. But somehow i think it likes it here. Your right Leanne i was looking forward to going out and that makes a change usually i'm dreading it. At least the food was lovely. Take care Pauline
jimi
Oh Pauline! What a BUMMER! sad.gif So sorry to hear that your night was spoiled. Some one was surely out of order...was it Tony and or his ah - Lady friend ( I use this term purely as a general reference as Lady doesn't fit the behavour) Thanks for the rain it made it's way down here and gave such a great show this afternoon that I filmed it lol - and promising to give an even better one tomorrow - and yes - now our weather is also CRAP! biggrin.gif Hey Leanne......couldn't remember our posts eh! ...got a note pad lol wink.gifbiggrin.gif ~~~"I think I'll BBQ???? hope you meant lamb and not Leanne ohmy.gif lol

alice3
What is this where women want to attack "the other woman". If I'd have been the girlfriend Tony would have been the target. I think I'd stay clear of him Pauline! He should get his dirty laundry sorted first. You don't want boiled bunny!ohmy.gif We have another sunny start today but rain is on it's way and our grass is getting way too long. It does seem funny Jimi going to bed before I've had my lunch. Talking of bedtime music ... if I'm not tired I like the Dixie Chicks and Leanne Rimes but last night I listened to new age music and birdsong. It was very relaxing... A friend has got one of those crystal ball things that lights up and plays raindrops, bubbling brooks etc. When she switched it on the other night her husband said "Does this mean we're going to have sex?" Duuuuh!

Alice/Jimi Thats the thing though Tony is the caretaker at the school where i work and when we go back in September i am going to be the cleaning supervisor and so i will be working more with him. Now thats another thing he is the kind of person who says one thing and does another. He got someone sacked from the other place he worked at and he has already phoned and got one of the cleaners who is their now into trouble by going over our bosses head and saying bad things about her to someone else, but to her face he is all nice and friendly how can you work with someone like that. I have my work cut out and i'm having serious second thoughts about taking on the supervisors job. he has already started behind my back and i have not even started the job yet. Can i stick up for myself i'm just not sure. Take last night instead of telling this woman to shut up i just got upset and then left. She did not see me upset no one did i went outside but thats where i am questioning myself as i will have to be strong with this man and can i do it. Me and my friend the one who is leaving and who knows this woman very well says she could not believe how she behaved and was very sorry for me. She said that she thought its because now that she is leaving i will be in charge and working more with her boyfriend so she feels frightend of me. But honestly the mans a tramp he puts it about where ever he can get it. I have higher standards than that he surely is kidding himself if he even thinks that i might go out with him left alone do anything else. I can see difficult times ahead. Take care pauline
jimi
Sounds like an episode out of a soap opera Pauline. Take it one day at a time and see how it is gonna unfold. Hopefully they will realise that you have no interest in him and just let you get on with your job. There is always someone out there waiting to stir up nonsence - try not to react to the pettiness of their little lives. ~ Oh! and thanks for sending down the rain Pauline, but you coulda laid off with the freezing gale force winds. Looks like a day indoors for me ....wouldn't send your ex out there today lol wink.gif Have a good one Ladies tongue.gif
chriscarol
So this Tony, he tells his lady friend that he likes you. What kind of egotist does that??? He likely wants to pit you, and his girlfriend against each other for attention. I've had innocent crushes over the years in my marriage, but I wasn't divulging any names. Well Pauline, you won't have to face him for awhile. Great boss!! And Pauline, I think the inclination to walk away was wise. If you started fighting with his girlfriend, his attention ploy would have worked perfectly. It's 4:00am. I hope this attempt at slumber is the charm.
alice3
You seem like a nice lady Pauline. I know you'll rise above it all. Just keep him panting. I had a boss like that. Thought he was God's gift but had rows of teeth like a shark. He pretended that he was much younger, floppy hair an all and would say the creepiest things to women (except me because I was quite hostile to him-didn't like him from the outset). I still wonder how he got that brown stain off his nose!biggrin.gif
leanne0721
No wonder Tony's girlriend is jealous P, it's those BITS of yours!!biggrin.gif
chriscarol
Lee, you took the word right out of my mouth. Course I have baby bits.biggrin.gif

Hello darlings, joliejacq wrote: Well, Gordon looks to me like an utter Sweetie-Pie! Attractive man, too! Oh, honey, you were SO right! Gordon arrived at about 3.15 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. From the first moment we got on so well. He thinks that I am the greatest thing since sliced bread, and the feeling is mutual! We had such a great weekend. Sunday we went to the beach and the weather was lovely. He just loved it all. He had to go work in Southampton today, and tonight came in to say hello to my son Andrew, who was away at his Dad's place at the weekend. Now he has gone to Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, and will spend the next five weeks or so working over here, in various parts of the country. He is hoping to be able to visit some of our relatives and tell them that he has spent time with me. At the moment I don't know when I will see him again, but he's hoping he will get the chance to come over here again later in the year. It seems a million years since I first emailed him: 'Dear Mr Walton, I think you and I may be related...' We were laughing about this at the weekend, because we already feel as if we have known each other all our lives. We gave each other presents, and when we exchanged them we found that we had both wrapped the presents in gold-coloured tissue paper. Spooky, or what? Lucky me to have found such a great guy! A wonderful cousin (feels more like a brother) and a friend for life! Love to you all, Moira x
chriscarol
Moira, So glad that you've made a friend. We've chatted, so...................... God, the names of the towns are amazing, as I live in New England. It was like looking at Plymouth Rock, settled. Hug, And I want to see your Isle of Wright.biggrin.gif:D:D Huggers and hang in, Chris

Morning, Chris!wink.gif Yep, we have chatted.....wink.gifwink.gif And yes, it is the 'Isle of Wight', and I took my cousin to see it from across the water on Sunday. It's good to see you back here again Chris, I missed you. Have a good day, all. Two more days and school's out for six weeks, yaaaaay!ohmy.gifbiggrin.gif

G'Day all! Rain and freezing overcast windy conditions have passed....for now. More rain due tomorrow...rain is good.
