Well, this is a new one on me. I went for a check up because of my two week long period which was very heavy for about 36 hours. My doctor felt it was probbly lack of progesterone and the estrogen is just thickening the uterine lining. I was OK with that but then he discovered a small spot on my cervix that was bleeding. He put some silver nitrate on it but wants to look at it more closely with a colpopscy next week. Now I am scared!! Of course, when I stert to read about all of this, everything refers to cervical cancer. Apparently, cervical polyps, infection, etc can cause this also.Do any of you feel just when you are coasting a little someone slams on the brakes??!!My doc wants me to increase my progesterone to try to thin down the lining of my uterus also. I am having an ultrasound to check that out also.Any advice, ladies. I always start thinking the worst in these situations. I will try to stay positive. Send me your positive vibes. Thanks in advance

Maureend,I know this is easy to say but -- please don't worry too much yet. This can be a very common problem and MOST of the time it turns out to be not serious. that happened to me after the birth of my second child. The doc cauterized it and I never had any problems with it afterwards. My cousin just had a scare like yours and it turned out to be benign too. Hang in there. I know it's hard to wait to know for sure. Yes, it does sometimes seem like one thing after another. I notice I REALLY appreciate the peaceful days now! I'll keep really positive thoughts for you! I think you'll be fine though! I wish the Doc had done a better job of comforting you!

Sometimes, the stress of having them not tell you what the odds are that it's nothing serious is the worst part. Hang in there Sweetie! Be sure and let us know how you're doing, okay? Hugs, E.

Eileen, thank you sooo much for your supportive and very comforting reply. It means so much to me to hear back about other people's experiences. Thank you for your positive thoughts-I will always take those.
I wrote in my journal this afternoon just to get all of my thoughts out. I am trying to be more consistent about doing that--I really do think it helps.I know what you mean about appreciating the peaceful days. It doesn't take much to make me feel like it has been a good day lately. Some days I am so happy just to feel good enough to work around the house,do some laundry, read a little bit, eat a nice dinner and spend some time with the family. Just the simple pleasures, I guess! Thanks again, your message put a smile on my face. Best wishes to you, Eileen.

Hi maureen,I just went through all those tests and they found nothing. Scared the poop out of me though. The test is a little uncomfortable but tolerable. And my doc said 99% of the time it is nothing , but they want to be sure. And since it is so curable if it IS something might as well find out as soon as possible , That's how i figured anyway. Best of luck with it and please let us know how it turns out. Will be sending good thoughts your way. Keep smiling I'm sure it's ok

:)hugs, jeanne

Jeanne, thanks so much for your encouraging message.Sorry to hear you had to go through all that junk also. i had a pap test back saying abnormal cells. had to have a colposcopy and a biopsy on my uterus, TWICEFirst time they didn't do it right , isn't that great? But even with the bleeding doesn't have to mean anything. If they don't check and it turns out to be something , you can sue them .So I think 95% is covering their backside from malpractice suits. But the other 5% makes us feel better when it comes back with a good report . Which I am sure yours will. Hugs, jeanne

Well, the ultrasound shows I have clots in my uterus, I guess in the endometrium. I haven't heard from my doctor yet but that is what the radiologist told me.Boy, if you ever wanted to prove estrogen dominance. This is exactly what all these books talk about. The low progesterone and estrogen ruling the roost!I guess maybe the Dand C route. I guess I better up the progesterone for sure! Thanks for letting me vent, ladies. It feels good to get it off my chest.

Glad that's over for you maureen. Not the worst news thank heavens:)Now the D&C will most likely be the solution. I haven't had one , but my friends who have came through it with flying colors. (and no not a white flag for surrender -heehee) I'm sure it can't be the most comfy procedure , but it will be over quick and you will feel so much better knowing that it has been done. Good luck to you my friend, you deserve a nice relaxing rest after all this is over . Be good to yourself .hugs, jeanne

Maureend,So glad that you found out what was going on and that you'll be knowing what the plan is soon. Are you doing okay emotionally, hon? This has to be a difficult time, Especially with all the waiting you've had to do! :angry:Please keep us up on your news and let us know what the doc says. Lots of hugs, E.
