I just got back from an appointment with a new gyn. I was taking otc pro-gest, Estro-Gel & 1mg on estrodiol a day. My rage has been getting worse and worse and my old gyn did not take me seriously.

He prescribed ortho-tri bcp and I'm hoping it will help. If it does not, he said I can add AD's, prozac to be exact. I really don't want to be on AD's but I'm getting to the end of my rope and if I don't do something soon I'm going to lose my mind.

If you are on bcp's do they help with your rage?

Thanks

My bcp do help my anger-another thing that helped me is evening primrose oil and walking.I hope you get relief-rage is hard to live with as we usually attack those we love the most.Writing down your feelings helps as well.GOD-bless

I was on birth control pills for over 10 years (recently went off) and still got the rage. I found that everyone and everything made me angry. Walking and trying to de-stress my day helped get rid of some of the anger. I mentioned on another post that although I was on the pill, I still had a lot of peri symptoms, including rage.

Well I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for 2 months now and my rage is still the same. I actually think I have the bcp's have too much estrogen. Since starting the pill I am exhusted from morning to night. I called my gyn and he said it sounds like I can't tolerate the higher estrogen bcp's. He prescibed Loestrin and I have yet to pick them up. I'm on day 21 of my cycle and I may take a few months off before I try something new.

I started with otc progesterone cream about a year ago and I want to give my body a break from hormones and see what happens.

Did your doc look at estradiol/progesterone/androgen levels?

Nope...does not believe in testing. rolleyes.gif I went and did saliva testing on my own and he would not even look at the results because according to him they are not reliable.

I currently am not taking anything and my symptoms are still the same. I'm going to wait a few months before I try something else. My next step is going to be a homeopathic Dr.

How odd that your doc would not even look at the test. Does he not know that even NASA uses saliva testing? I guess it is good enough for our astronauts!

Pull some articles for him....There are millions out there!

by the way...Testosterone balances your mood and has a calming effect if you have the right amount. (too much causes rage) How would you know what you need if your doc won't test you? He must be a mind reader! With you hormones out of whack, even in one area, it can cause a lot of unnecessary problems. Yep, I agree with finding a new doctor. ...one that will work with you instead of deciding everything for you. Wouldn't you love to let him walk in your shoes for a day?

I'm.changing Dr's yet again. I found a female Dr. that prescribes BHRT. I have an appointment with her on the 19th. I received the new patient paperwork over the weekend and it goes into great details about symptoms. All the paperwork my previous Dr. had me fill out was in regards to my general health and family health history.

My mother went through full blown menopause at 44 and I'll be 42 in August. I had years of fertility treatments because of high fsh. During those years and even now my periods are only 22 days or less. Unfortunatly my mom passed away 4 years ago so I don't know her details.
