HI

I am expecting my period any day now. I have a very itchy vulva area but no discharge?
Anyone get this? Can you get a yeast infection without that "typical" discharge that everyone talks about??

Hi Maura,
I am itching right along with you. The days before my period I seem to get dry, I guess and itch and itch and run and itch. Maybe it is the change in the PH? It also happens right after my period ends. No discharge, nothing....just dry. I put on a vaginal cream when it doesn't stop on its own so I don't hurt the skin....sometimes I can itch so bad that I cut the skin and bleed.......

I used to get that all the time before my period, that's how I would know it was right around the corner. After it started the itching stopped. Mich

Do you find that during this time you are more sensitive to soaps, toilet paper, panti-liners etc? I think it might be a sign of estrogen dropping. That would make sense given the time of your cycle that it happens. I used to get this A LOT before starting on estrogen therapy. Now it does not bother me at all.

I've had the same problem for about four years on and off. And it seems it always pops up about the time I go in for my annual exam. The last couple of times I've been asked if I've noticed any discharge, which I haven't, and I've been prescribed a cream for the itching. It gets worse during the last day of my period ... I think it must be from the pads and the dampness, and then occurs on and off between periods. It seems to be worse at night ... sometimes I wake up to a terrible itching and can't stand not to scratch. I'll have it for a few days, then it'll be gone, and then it'll start all over again.
I think it has to do with hormones, but I really don't want to start on any medication. Hopefully it'll go away once menopause starts ???

Yes, I get that too. Glad to hear I'm not alone........... Crazy. I don't have vaginal dryness, but the vulvar area gets super itchy.
