I know I should post this in the breast forum but want to try here......

A few months back I noticed pin sized *lump* just aside of my areola...., about a 1/2 inch away on the left quadrant. I have always checked it occassionaly and it is just always there. My last mamo/US was 6 months ago.

Last night I checked again and it has now gotten to be the size of a very small pea with and adjacent similar *lump* next to it. It is completely painless. The larger one almost appears to be movable, but I think it is more whisful thinking than actuality. The smaller next to it appears clearly to be fixed.

I can get in for a US until next wednesday but will call again in an hour when they reopen to see if I have ANY chance of today.

Painless node by areola.......ANYONE?????????????? I have been thoroughly exhausted...sleeping 10 hours a day and falling asleep on the couch again by 8pm. I am truly worried....

I am sorry I have no experience of a lump in that area. It sounds more like a skin tag or something which would be nothing to worry about. Is it on the surface?
I had a mammogram call back three years ago and had to have extensive tests. The wait during the week for the result-which thankfully came back benign- was truly horrible. There is no short cut to feeling better when you find a lump unfortunately. The only way to deal with it is to get on with having it checked out which is what you are doing.

I hope you manage to get an earlier appointment and that your mind is put at ease. Nine times out of ten breast lumps are benign but the worry we feel is the same beforehand-dreadful.

Please let us know how you get on. I am really feeling for you this morning!

Good luck

Hospital just called me back...I called to see if I could in anyway, get in today.
She called to tell me that they already saw the 2 small (7mm and 5mm) cysts on my last US exactly at the position I feel them....whewwwwww. Fibrocystic breasts ****. Let me tell you. She will do an US on Monday am at 8:30 instead of Wednesday and will give me a diagram of my breasts and all the fibro's and cysts so next time I check, I will know if something is already documented in that spot.

Oh the tears again today. If something happened to me, I just don't know what would become of my 3 girls....they've already last their Father. I told her it has been peri hell with the fatigue again this past month. I haven't had one day that I have been awake more than 10-12 hours in total in a day. Time for a big deep breath, a smile and a walk in the fresh air....

I never take xanax other than for flying but ws WAY close to taking one today!!!!!

Hi Janet....Thanks so much. I have been living with and following up all 6 months on a large fibroadenoma in my left breast. 3 biopsies to date. Another smaller fibro has developed in my right breast. They are very dense...good for bathing suits but bad for evaluating lol!!! I am sooooooo relieved after speaking with the Dr. My period is about a week away and she said I must have much more fluid built up this month and that the cyst has grown with the cycle. Making it so easy to feel. Obvious to say I thought I was on the road to breast cancer last night. Horrible dreams and kept waking up with sweats....all for nothing. CRAZY rollercoaster ride this is!!!!!!
