I was told that you can have osteoporosis and not feel any pain from it at all UNLESS you have a fracture then you have pain. Can anyone tell me if this is true. I am confused about what is the truth because I just think the doc's want us to take the osteo. drugs.

I haven't dealt with the osteoporosis myself but my mom has and I think as for the not feeling any pain is true. My mom's doctor pushed and pushed her to take the bone building pills until she finally gave in and gave them a try. The pills made her hurt so she stopped taking them and of course her doctor tried to guilt her back into taking them saying it's better to hurt then to end up in the nursing home with a broken hip. My mom said she would rather chance it and have quality of life now!!
