Well, had the biopsy Tuesday and got my results today and thank god all is good. The worst is waiting for the call. Just a note of advice for anyone having this procedure Stereotatic needle biopsy: It was very painful for me and other people I spoke to. I think they should tell us to take something before the procedure. Even though they inject you to numb the breast I felt EVERYTHING !! I have had a lot of procedures awake when I was going thru infertility that were uncomfortable but this was beyond. I am small 32 A and maybe that had something to do with it. However, I spoke to someone recently and they are big chested and they said they would never do it again either. Not trying to scare anyone but just letting you know to take something before the procedure to help with the pain. Again, remember calcifications usually turn out to be nothing bad.

I am so sorry it was so painful and I'm so happy that you got good news. I have to go back in Feb (6 mo check) for a followup mammogram due to "suspected calcification" on my mammogram in Sept. Thanks for the info. I hope I won't need it - but kind of you to let us know. Savor your good news, Kathleent

Hmm, it may have been where you went. I had it in one breast (med size) and the thought of it was much worse than the procedure. I also have a friend who regulary has to have both breast done and she says they are nothing.

At least I believe it's the same procedure, they take a biopsy and leave a staple in to mark it to distinquish it for further testing. Is this the same procedure?
