It's my baby girls 2nd birthday! Yeah! Happy birthday Shaden!!! OK OK I know, she is not MY baby girl per say. She's a daycare child of mine who I actually have more waking hours than her mom. I take great pride in the fact that her mom (who I did not even know two years ago when Shaden started!) is going to college full time and working full time to better herself for her daughters sake. This woman is 25. She has entrusted her daughter to us way above and beyond daycare routine. We have her overnight two to three nights per week because mom does overnight shifts also. The two years I have had what I call my "baby girl" (and mom knows I call her this and is tickled I'm this close to her daughter) have been pure joy. She is a pistol who is funny, sassy and very bull headed just like her mother. They are the family that makes my job worth it's weight in gold. I know this has nothing to do with meno I just wanted to share Shadens very special birthday with my girls. Come for the party...we have CAKE!!!

I know exactly how you feel, ladybugs. I feel a very special connection with all the kids I've watched grow up in my daycare and I know they feel the same about me.

Now that I'm driving a school bus, I have seen a few of them and they ALWAYS come up and give me a hug.

I feel as though they are MY kids and I love them all!!!

Thanks Bev, oh my Lord! You should of seen her eyes bug out when she opened her gift. She is a baby doll fanatic and has a small stuffed bear we call her "beary bear" that she drags around like linus's blanket. So her gift involved a child size stroller, bassinet and high chair all with a brand new baby the same size as her bear. When mom came to pick her up she would let go of NEITHER! It was so funny when mom took it from her to help her down the stairs she grabbed it back and shot her a look like "I don't think so mom, the baby's with me!" I laughed my butt off! Can't wait to see if she's dragging both back here today! Whodda thought you could love somebody elses child almost as much as your own?
