Just wanted to give my update and hope this can help future women looking up PMB (Post menopcausal bleeding). As per my posts previously 2 years post...major period type bleeding (very scary) and then the workup all the time thinking it must be cancer. Ultrasound (lining 5.2) and office Hysterscopy where they can look right in with cameras etc. and avoid D and C. That didn't work for me because of Stenosis of Cervix so D and C yesterday. Results were preliminary anaylsis of lining no unusual cells (ie cancer) and a polyp (med size) which may have caused the bleeding. These surgeons are experts at spotting trouble and the further analysis of the lining rarely yields anything bad. So he told me that if more bleeding within 6 months...no worries but after that it is treated as a "new PMB event" and we start over only hopefully I will be more calm and educated about the process. I highly recommend searching on this board and reading all the PMB posts as it is pretty common and NOT READING MANY OF THE SIGHTS REGARDING CANCER ETC. as you will drive yourself crazy (I did) and per the experts most of these cases are not cancer but they have to check it out. A wait and see attitude with PMB (over one year) is not acceptable...find another doctor. All of the investigation may seem like overkill but every now and then it is cancer and you have found it very early and it is very treatable. Good luck....and thank you to previous posters and I hope to check in from time to time if I can help anyone else. Also about the D and C...apart from the pre stress easy procedure...a bit of propofol and next thing you are waking up and hopefully getting good news.

Dear 'kathy49'
So glad you got good news so now you can relax and stop worrying so much.
A lot of Post Menopausal women suffer from break out bleeding for one reason or another. It is always wise to get it checked out immediately but usually it is fibroids or polyps causing the problem.
This Board is a real life saver and Thank God I found it.
Stay Well
Elizabeth
