One thing I can say right away is that any problems that I have with my eyes causes me extreme anxiety. I guess it is because I am scared of going blind (why? I have no idea).
I do get occular migraines with pain, which cause an immediate panic attack.
What I am experiencing and have been experiencing for a few months now is quite different. I am noticing that it is difficult to focus on stuff. For example, when I am speaking with someone and listening to them I look at their face but I am not seeing the "whole" thing but it is NOT due to an occular migraine where I get black spots in my vision then the zigzags, etc. I blink and blink but nothing helps. This happens alot. I am also getting pinpoints of white light that last for a couple seconds and then pass. Also I "see" things floating through my vision, like a half moon, colored dots.
I do not feel like I am explaining everthing very well, but maybe you can get the gist of it.
Does anyone else experience this? If so, what causes it for you? I know that perimeno can cause vision changes such as reading glasses and stuff but this is just weird.
Thanks for reading this.

Hi,
I have been getting this problem with focusing for few months now and it is scary, same as yours. I have always had a good vision but have needed glasses to read for the past 3 years now (I am almost 53). However, I got really nervous the first time I realized that even with blinking, I could not focus properly on what I was looking at; I can see it but it just is not as clear as it used to be. It is more prevalent in the morning. I also find that I am more sensitive to the light as well. My distance vision has gone down for the past few months. I remember my sister (she is 64 now) telling me about her eyes problems as well and at the time I did not relate but she had mentionned the problem with focusing and seeing also floaters.
I don't know if it is hormonal or maybe just age!

i get many of the visual things that you describe. i have had a few ocular migraines (w/out pain) that are similar to yours. then i infrequently have episodes of having difficulty focusing - hard to describe, esp since it hasn't happened that often. but definitely scary.
the spots, lines, etc may be floaters. freaked the heck out of me in my late 20s, which is when i 1st developed them. they float across the field of vision & are esp noticeable when the background is all one color - blue, white, gray. i can pretty much ignore them most of the time now, but initially i became pretty focused on them & that will drive you crazy. sometimes i have to wear sunglasses even on a cloudy day if they seem too prevalent.
oh, & i am definitely light sensitive as well.
hope this helps. can't hurt to mention it to the doc just to rule out other issues.

When i started going through all the symptons a few months ago the first thing that scared me to death was my far vision had got weaker I too went into panic and still do as I cant get used to it. i have my new glasses but they are not good enough even though I had a test I try not to wear my glasses too much just so I can exercise my eyes.

Hi Stitchnanny,
Have also had the occular migraines w/out pain had episodes of this shortly after I had my daughter, frightened the life out of me,went to Dr who frightened me even me more,by getting me in with a specialist very quickly.
Who looked rather miffed that I had been sent.Never did say "what" had caused it though, but nothing to worry about.Did go get my eyes checked too,as they can tell alot from a simple eye test.
But funnily enough a friend of mine suffered with this after she had given birth too,her Dr told her it was "hormonal" things shifting/settling.
Have noticed my sight in general isn,t as good recently can,t see things close up,keep having to hold my arms out further and further so can focus on whatever I,m reading!!!
Would go get an eye test if it is really causing you anxiety,at least put your mind to rest
Take care

Stitchnanny - I too have a lot of weird stuff going on with my eyes. Mine seems to come and go - at the weekend I seemed to get a pain in my temple which seemed to shoot behind my eyes! when it went easier I noticed that my eyes were more blurry and I had difficulty focussing. It sure scares the **** out of me!
At the same time, my left arm had a dull ache in it, and my left leg felt achy too. After this had passed I noticed that I had tons more thread-veins appear out of no-where on my legs. Feel it all must be related somehow and maybe a hormonal shift was going on
I did have an eye test a couple of weeks ago, and strangely enough he said my eyesight was the same - no change.
As Kath said maybe get your eyes checked ust to put your mind at ease.
Hugs
Jackie

Hi my eyes are having a lot of funny lights , flashes, aurea. The most annoying is the wave of moving light in the very corner of my left eye ( outer side ). But the new is the aglomeration in circle of little bubles, is the only way i can explain, and when i blink my eyes is the only way i can see it

making me feel soo weird

Just to mention one of the many.

At night I get circles of white light.

Stitch.....if you haven't had your eyes looked at then you need to. These things could a sign of something serious or just migraines. Please go have it check asap.

Some of the symptoms described here sound a bit like glaucoma. The circles of white light and auras especially.
There is glaucoma in my family so I ought to get it checked but so far I have not had those symptoms.
Stitch-
I suffer terribly from dry eyes especially at night, due to lack of estrogen. I have to use drop justs to get them open in the morning! I have noticed that sometimes during the day I have trouble focusing, independant of my usual eyesight. My right eye especially feels scratchy and I am sure it is the dry eye thing, as it comes and goes. Have you noticed you have dry eyes at all? This may be the problem
I also get loads of floaters which are common and nothing to worry about
I agree with kar4242 anyway. It would be best to get it checked out

I so appreciate all of your responses.
It is settled, I will be making an appointment as soon as possible to see the eye doc and find out what is exactly going on. Glaucoma as well as bad eyes in general runs in my family too so I guess waiting around is not an option.
I dont know why, but my eyes cause me much more panic than anything else. Even after all these years, I still panic immediately when an occular migraine hits. I have to go lay down for the 30 mins it is going on. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, thank you to all of you. I really needed to know if this was something to worry about or not.
Hugs,

HI,
I just got a message from the ophtamologist"office about my test results. Still don't have them but was told there was nothing of concern to report and that I should follow-up with an appointment in 6 months. I had an OCT and field vision tests to check for possible glaucoma. It is possible to have a higher occular pressure than the standard numbers but it does not mean anything until they check the thickness of the cornea. So even though my occular pressure was higher than normal, it does not seem that there is anything to worry about at this point. Just wanted to let you know if you go for your test. From your post, I have been having the same symptoms as yours so it might just been another one of those hormonal thing.
Let me kow how it goes and if the panic hits, like it did for me, remember that we are here to make you feel better.
Take Care Jeaninne
