Just wondering if anyone else is bothered by Nausea. I started this a few months ago I have good days & Bad days. Also when it first starts I get this weird tingling in my legs. Than the Nausea hits. My sense of smell is increased Certain smells really make me nauseaus. I don't know if this is peri or not. But I am 44 and now my cycles are all over the place. Some times up to 58 days other months 18 days.
I was always regular 28-32 days since I was 10yrs old.
Any one else witht these symptoms???

YES!!!! All of the above!!! The worst is the nausea and the horrible odors!! I smell things that NO ONE else can smell and it happens a lot!!! Been going on for YEARS!!! I really believe they have all lost their minds!!

I've had a few bouts of nausea that hit all of a sudden. and was so bad my throat was starting to contract like I was about to throw up. I couldn't eat anything! Standing up made it worse. It's happened twice, and both times it lasted about two days. And it was right before my period. Didn't happen this month, so don't know if it's connected to my period, or if that was just coincidence. Never did throw up, and never did tie the nausea to anything else, like a bad meal or whatever.

Yes I've had it.Especially around mid cycle so I think it was when I ovulated.Don't get it as much now.The smell thing too.I also get the weird tingling in my shins and really sensitive feet.

had the nausea this morning, actually. 1st started getting it a few years ago. it comes & goes & tends to be present more when i have alot of other misery going on (mood swings, aches, sleep problems, head fog/brain interruption). it can be mild to quite severe, but fortunately each episode is rather short, even if i have more than a few a day. not sure how it relates to cycle since mine are all over the place & i've stopped trying to figure out where i am in each one. probably more in the 2nd half, though.

also get the smell stuff & other sensitivity to a variety of stimuli.

Count me in too. I have all of the above. And as with many ladies going through all this, these symptoms wax and wane. The smell sensitivity is the hardest to bear. Innocent odors and even "good" smells seem foreign and tend to conjure up horrible imagery/emotional reactions that make me feel like Im mentally ill. I have no idea why this happens with hormonal changes, but I never experienced it before peri, so there must be a connection and God knows it is no fun at all. yes .. me too.. and the smells .. I wonder where the heck they are comming from .. I can smell stuff no one else seems to be bothered by too. And sometimes those frozen meals people heat up at work just make me want to gag.

Oh yes! The smell thing is a real biggy.................... I found that I could not open the cupboard with washing powders and cleaning solutions without falling over and even previously nice smells became like an enemy. I used to joke that I would make a good sniffer dog for the police force. I could smell things that others could not even begin to detect. Sometimes I was sure that I could smell stale smoke in my son's bedroom.

I guess that it might be due to oestrogen receptors in the nose or just plain dryness causing hypernosmia. The good news is that it shows that all you ladies are very likely to be peri menopausal. Who needs hormonal blood tests when we can just follow our nose!

XIII, The smell thing really drives me NUTS sometimes! I would smell stale cigarettes, when there was NO ONE around that smoked! I spent 15 min the other night trying to convince everyone that a bracelet that my granddaughter gave to me smelled VERY strongly of chemicals. They all laughed at me!!!!

Do you know what? ............ I can smell the feathers in my duck down duvet. (And they smell awful.) My husband can't smell a thing!

How bizzare have also been smelling stale smoke for a while now,just in certain rooms and as a few have said NO ONE else can smell it!!

Also can smell stale/stagnant water in our bedroom??

Just been remarking to someone that just when you think "Oh my goodness this is too weired" You can bet your bottom dollar someone on here will post about it.

Hi "ctmom" ..... yes, nausea is part of peri. I also deal with this myself, on and off, I can't tell what triggers it really, I don't think anything in particular does, just whatever. IT'll hang on for a day, or maybe longer. As far as the smell thing, there are times I smell things nobody else is smelling, AT ALL! I remember once, smelling ciagarette smoke.... and we don't smoke! Yet, i was positive there was cigarette smoke in the living room!!!! lol ..... so...what the heck! It's all part of this stuff, .... hormones control so much! I would definately say you are in peri, your age alone, is perfect! (to say the least about your whacko cycles!...like mine ) .... take it easy, and stay here ..... you'll be ok!

that is too funny. I never connected sensitivity to smell and perimenopause but I used to have the same thing with cigarette smoke. And now I am really sensitive to parfumes, it just makes me nauseous as well. My sense of smell has changed a lot. I have been feeling nauseous now more often than usual. Today, i felt nauseous for few hours as for the tingling, i have it but it is not connected to the nauseous feeling though.

I forgot as well to mention that I am the only one who seems to smell mold in my basement. I have asked many people to go downstairs and tell me if they smelled it. I even called two contractors and nobody smells anything. My husband thinks I am nuts!!

My sense of smell is sooooo good now that it hurts. I get nausea because of it!!!!!
Did not have this problem until perimeno hit.
