Hey Guys - and especially ladybugsforyou:

I started my allergy shots yesterday - it all went fine - I didn't break out in a rash or anything - however I was a bit wiped out after a few hours - I wonder if the shots were the reason - or maybe because I ate a whole box of marzipan LOL LOL - any marzipan lovers here???

I am a marzipan fanatic! I am so happy you started your shots. You will feel so different in a year or so. Keep in mind when they give you the shot your body is going to fight the mix because it is a small amount of what you are allergic to so your body will build up an immunity to it. Now add in a dozen more things your allergic to...It only lasts the day I would get my shots. I felt fine the next day.

Hey Bugs:

thanks for your support - I had the shots on Monday and I know its probably my imagination but I feel much better already - except for the tiredness I did not have any skin reaction to the shots - in fact when I tried to look for the needle marks on my arm I could not find them LOL -

So are you still allergy free - how many years - I have met a couple of negative people who told me that they do not work or they only work if you keep taking them - I hope this will not be my experience as I don't want to be taking them for the rest of my life -

Let's see...I started my allergy shots in 2003. Doc said I would need them for five years. I used them for 1 1/2 years and needed no more. I was allergy free, am still allergy free and LOVING it!!! Every person is different and a lot depends on how bad your symptoms are. But with my grasses being a 38 when the scale only goes to 6? That's bad!!! Now I won't say I am stupid enough to go out and roll around in the grass but I can walk barefoot through it with no reactions! Keep going...they work!

Hi Ladyb:

Did you go once or twice a week? I have to go once a week for 7 months and then once a month till who knows when...

so glad you are allergy free - its been 4 years for you I think...
ladybugsforu
I started out going twice per week but after a year of that went to once per week and STAYED at once per week.

LOVE Marizpan! I cook with it a lot... and yes, just love it!

Best of good things with your shots - I really hope that helps, it is a total drag - alergies and so many of us suffer with them.
