Hi, I'm 38 yrs old and getting ready to have a supracervical hysterectomy Nov. 5. I suffered from endometreosis when I was 17, and had surgery then, which a large chocolate cyst was removed from the right ovary. When I had my tubes tied after my second child, another cyst was removed, this time from my left ovary. After this I have not had any problems till the last 2 years. Heavy periods, sometimes twice a month, severe cramps, mood swings, hot flashes, and now a 'vibrating' feeling at the top, and towards the side of my right breast. (side towards the center of my chest) Stress seems to make this worse. I have only had one panic attack in my life which scared me tremedously. My dr. and I have discussed different options and have decided that although it is going to 'toss' me into early menopause, that the best option was a hysterectomy, taking everything but the cervix. Has anyone have any advice to help me with what is to come? I have to admit, I'm scared. This will be my second major surgery this year, (I had a knee replacment in March). I'm worried how my body is going to react without the hormones. Is there weight gain after a hysterectomy? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone. I have been reading many posts on this site, and have found lots of information.
