I want to gain around ten lbs. but in a healthy way. Can anyone tell me if they have any advice or maybe some type of a shake that is high in calories without all the sugar or any other food that can help in weight gain ?? I have always been at least ten lbs. underweight. Thanks.

Maybe those glucerna drinks etc..I beleive they are high in calories however I don't know about the sugar.
I'd suggest just increasing your healthy oils, natural peanut butter, olive oil etc and also healthy grains. 10 lbs isn't a lot so just enough to add about 200 calories to your normal diet would seem to work for me but each one's metabolism is different so it's hard to say what will work for you.
Good luck with it!

if you like, coconut milk full fat makes delicious shake base, add regular low sugar protein powder. Avocado, peanut butter, olive oil, all do the trick, 10 pounds is easy to gain

Hard to lose for some..

Cat-e,
I remember what it's like to try so hard to put on weight. Up until my mid-20's, I was always trying to gain weight, but in the non-healthy way: junk foods and no exercise. I guess I would have been considered to be a "fat-skinny" girl, a modern day term! First of all, you have the right idea of doing it with a healthy diet. Along with the healthy fats already suggested, you could add a few snacks per day, such as nuts, string cheese, triscuits, and smoothies/shakes. (I make them in the blender: 1 cup chocolate soy milk, scoop of (chocolate!) protein powder, 1 frozen banana, and a low fat vanilla yogurt. I sometimes add a tablespoon of natural peanut butter. I'm not trying to gain weight, this would be a meal for me!)
Secondly, if you want that additional 10 pounds to make you look more healthy, but also look lean and firm, and you are not already exercising, you will need to do aerobic and strength training in order to add the additional weight to your frame as muscle/fat, not just pure fat. Just don't over-do the cardio, or you will burn off all those extra calories! I would think that 3 - 30 minute sessions per week would suffice. Strength training twice a week, about 1 hour total in order to add muscle.
Let us know how you do!
