yesterdayschild
Hello

When I had my first child everything was fine. My period came back 5 months after giving birth and even though I was breastfeeding they were consistent (come every month). I have NEVER missed a period until I gave birth to second child. It seemed to have come back 3 months postpartum, but didn't come in the fourth month and came in the 5th month and now for this month is hasn't come. This has never happened to me before and I feel weak and weird. Am I going through perimenopause? I am 35. My ob gyn said I'm too young. How does she know if I am or not?

Hi yesterday:

After my first child, everything returned to normal.
After my second child, at the age of 35, things went crazy.
I started experiencing post partum depression, anxiety, and just in general weird.
My periods starting acting up around that same time but finally got really erratic around my 36th birthday. Over the last ten years, there have been so many things like hotflashes, dizzies, anxiety (lots of that), derealization, aches, pains, tingling, numbness, etc.

Check out the 34 symptoms of peri listed on this site and see if you match with any of it.
Doctors dont know everything. They only go on what their textbooks tell them and that is that in general women are 51 years old when they start menopause. Some doctors dont even acknowledge peri, which is stupid. Your doctor seems to believe that only your hormone levels will tell her anything. That is just not true.

You will find ladies here that cover the entire spectrum of ages for peri and meno. Keep reading and posting. You will find tons of information, support, and encouragement here. Be proactive and insistent when speaking to your ob about your symptoms and changes you are experienceing.

And last but not least, never forget that you are NOT ALONE!

Hope this helps you some.
Hugs to you and welcome to PS,
Jeaninne
