hello,
Was wondering if any of you has experienced eye problems. Some nights, I wake up and I can't seem to open my left eye, and it takes me about one minute to be able to focus on a clock and read the time. It does not happen every night but when it does, it scares me. My left eye seem as well more tired some days like if it has focused too much. I have just had a test for glaucoma as my ocular eye pressure is on the high side (23 in the left-20 in the right). Any one of you as an insight on this (no pun intended!). I am a little worried but was wondering if perimenopause or menopause would create higher eye pressure.
thanks

Hi MrsBuff:

I cannot address your precise trouble but can tell you that I have had many things happen with my eyes during peri aside from the normal age related changes. I have floaters, trouble focusing, and fuzziness in my vision. I believe that those things are all anxiety-related and therefore a peri symptom.

At night when I wake up I have trouble reading my clock too and have to blink several times before I can focus on it. The pressure in my eyes was elevated but have not been back for an exam in 3 years so I have no idea what the readings are now.

Hope this helps some.
Hugs,
Jeaninne

thank you for your prompt reply. I was just reading another reply you gave to another ps sister on another issue. You seem to have been dealing with that menopause storm for a while or to have a grasp on it. I am sorry you are having the same eye thing. As for me I have always had great vision so it is a new one for me to be told that I might need regular check-up. Isn't pap smear and mammogram enough!
Your answer was really helpful smile.gif

I just posted on eye things a few days ago. I always have been nearsighted, but lately that is getting tough too. I can't see far and now near is tough too. During the night I need my hands to lead the way, I can't see a thing. I have high pressure too, checked for glaucoma every year now and worry since my grandmother had it. My eye doctor said if I had it they now laser it away instead of drops, so not to worry. I hope this helped you a bit. Good luck.
