My major hormonal drop two years ago brought me: muscle twitches, nausea, weight loss, back pain, chest tightness (couldn't take a deep breath), restless legs, etc., etc.... it was awful.
Well two years later, it's all gone!!! here's how long it lasted:
Nausea - two months
Muscles twitches - lasted 6 months
Back pain - 5 months
Bladder issues - 5 months
Costochondritis - one month (still get a twinge every so often)
Chest tightness - on and off for eight months
Weight loss: 35 lbs - gained it all back
In the midst of all this I had umbilical hernia surgery which led to a MRSA infection, a wound that wouldn't heal for 6 months, removal of infected stitches, return of hernia, and FINALLY a wonderful laparscopic repair this past August that has fully healed!! (This time I traveled 90 miles to find a hospital and doctor I felt comfortable with. So worth it!)
I don't take anything - just Vitamin E. Too afraid of meds. I just take occasional Advil, use the old fashioned liniments, etc.
What have I learned from all this? It takes time and patience. It's so difficult. I've also learned that most things take months, not weeks, to improve and go away. I always want things to go away immediately - it just doesn't work like that.
Sure, I hear a little voice inside of me saying "I hope you're not jinxing yourself." Well... I wanted to post this anyhow because I really hung on to all the positive posts I read here during the past two years. I even printed out a few to read whenever I was feeling discouraged. So....if this gives someone a little hope, it will make my day!!!
Regards,
Helen
