Would love some opinions!!
These are my new labs (bloodwork). I am trying to figure out if my bhrt doses need tweeked at all. Started bhrt in April. My problems are that I am still feeling depressed and my hair continues to shed. Energy pretty low too. Was hoping that bhrt would give me a little spunk back. Maybe my expectations were off. Aside from sleeping a bit better, I can't say that I feel too much different than before using them. Do you think I am wasting my time and money????

My free Testosterone is <0.2 (0.0-2.2) would this mean that I should be supplementing with Testosterone cream?

DHEA 113 (26-200)
Estradiol 52 (0-31) Post/untreated range
Cortisol 9.7 (3.1-22.4)
Progesterone 0.9 (0.0-0.7)
SHBG 113 (18-114) (not sure what ths one is)

Thanks!

I think you need to get your estradiol up some more. What about Testosterone? Did they test for that? Are you taking any DHEA supplements? I seem to always feel worse when taking tht. What about Vitamin D? Are you low on that? My doctor told me my Vit D was low and that I would get more bang for my buck by taking a supplement and I have found he is right. I feel much better while on it than I do without it.

Hope this helps... PS.. my estradiol is 229 to give you an idea. SHBG is the sex hormone binding glubolin, test for what your testosterone is binding to or if it's available to be used I believe.

DLT:
Are you taking estrogen by mouth? Your level looks low, but a SHBG of over 100 usually indicates an excess of estrogen. ALSO, your free T is likely low because your SHBG is so high. SHBG is sex hormone binding globulin. Also, I don't see any thyroid labs here and that would be one of the first things I'd check if I felt sluggish and had hair loss.

Avi:

This all seems so confusing that I am not sure it is worth it! I do take thyroid meds and my T3 was below range and my T4 was low so my meds have been increased over the last three months. I just figured that the hair loss would stop by now. I use a gel... estradiol and estriol and a progesterone too. It is such a juggling act that I just get fed up with the whole mess!!!! Thanks for your reply.
